Give yourself the gift of yoga. Start your day with this 10 minute yoga sequence and enjoy the benefits all day!
1. Breath of fire
Sit with a straight spine. Breathing though your nose exhale as you pull the navel in and relax your stomach muscles on the inhale. Pump you stomach in and out with your breath. Continue for about a minute. Breath of fire isn't recommended if you are pregnant or menstruating.
Detoxifies and energizes.
2. Neck rolls
Still sitting, start making circles with your head. Pretend you are drawing circles on the ceiling.
Stimulates the brain and upper glands.
3. Seated spinal rolls
Sitting with your legs crossed, place your hands on your knees and make big clockwise circles with your torso. Keep your breath deep. After about a minute change directions.
Detoxifies the liver and massages the stomach organs.
4. Kneeling sun salutations or full sun salutations
Inhale stand you your knees and reach your arms up and back.
Exhale into childs pose, sit on your heels and relax your head down.
Inhale into table, on your hands and knees.
Exhale push your hips back into downward dog.
Inhale, bring yourself forward into plank pose on your hands and toes
Exhale, press your hips back to downward dog
Inhale, down to your knees into table
Exhale, bring your hips and your head down into childs pose.
For a flexible spine and a flexible mind. Also helps to tone and strengthen the body.
5. Half moon
Stand with your feet together, bring arms up and interlace your fingers with the index fingers released. Bring your hips to the left and bend your torso and arms to the right. Keep your chin away from your chest and breath deeply. After a few breaths change sides.
Stretches the side body and stimulates the colon for better digestion and elimination.
6. Standing twist
Stand with your feet hip width, allow your knees to bend a bit as you twist your body from side to side. Ground through your feet and let your arms sway with the natural motion of the twist.
Detoxifies and makes your spine happy.
Stand with your feet together. Bring your arms out to the side and lift the right leg to right as you tilt your body to the left.
