Vega Sport – Life Before And After

I remember first hearing about Vega Sport. I immediately emailed Kelly asking how I could get it. “It’s only available in Canada right now. It’ll be in the states later this summer.” Damn. I emailed back, this time begging for samples, to no avail. I spent the entire summer dreaming about it while reading other people’s reviews of this mystical, glorious new product. Finally, about 6 weeks ago the delivery man rang my doorbell. At long last it had arrived. My life had forever changed.

My daily schedule went something like this:
• 5am-6am Wake up, shower, blend morning smoothie with Smoothie Infusion, dread going to work, because I’m so tired!
• 6am Drive to work to teach 6:30am Muay Thai class.
• 7:30-9am Provide private one-on-one training in Muay Thai and also strength and conditioning.
• 9-10am Teach Muay Thai class.
• 10am-2pm Gym maintenance, private training, etc.

During work, I’d find 5 minutes here and there to eat and drink, but really there is no rest. I’ve never been a coffee drinker and never even tried popular energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster. It’s always been the smell and taste that’s turned me off.

After work I’d go home, eat lunch, take a 2 hour nap, maybe run some errands, take care of my turtles – Then I’d head back to the gym for my own training. Even after my nap I’d still be wiped out. Not only would I be sleepwalking through work in the morning, but I’d be sleepwalking through my own training in the evening. After training I’d take a shower, eat, and try to go to sleep. I cannot fall asleep early no matter how hard I try. Even when I cut out the midday nap. Usually I’m in bed and actually asleep around 1am. That leaves me with 4 hours of sleep before I have to wake up and do it all again.

My daily routine is more or less still the same, except for 1 serving of a simple, yet oh so complex powder called Vega Sport that I mix with some water and drink on the way to work. Now I can pay full attention to what I’m doing both while working and training. I feel very focused, no longer sluggish, which has affected my mood for the positive as well.

I’ve given samples of Vega Sport to all of my students as well. Once they got past the color after mixing with water, all I got was positive reviews. I’ve heard things like “It cured my hangover”, “It makes me feel like I just took Adderall”, “I feel like I could spar 10 more rounds in the ring now.” I’d consider all of those to be good. Slightly weird, but good.

My only complaint is that when I take it before my evening training session, sometimes it gets me TOO fired up, and I can’t fall asleep until 3am or so. A small price to pay though, if you ask me.

I am SO jealous! STILL trying to get someone to send me this stuff in Aus - but it's going to cost an arm and a leg to ship! I miss it, and it's killing me 'cause I know what a difference this would make to my training right now!

I LOVE VEGA Sport & I totally depend on this for my daily long runs. I find it gives me a nice energy boost- yes I do also feel some 'jitters' but I think its a combination of the Ginsing Gr Tea & the Raw Cacao nibs that I also take w/ the VEGA Sport. If I do take it on its own, I still feel alert & energized :)
Love it!!!

It almost sounds to me like you are overtrained/stressed out, and a supplement such as this (though it may help in the short run), may actually burn out your adrenal glands further.

Insomnia is definitely a symptom of overtraining. I have had this, I did not sleep well for 3-4 months due to overtraining. I started to depend on green tea and the occaisional coffee to study (i was in university...the stress of which probably did not help either).

If i were you, I would take a step back and assess your overall lifestyle/daily routine rather than falling back on a caffeinated supplement to get you through your day, as it may just dig a deeper hole for you to climb out of later.

Just a thought.

I must say: I too feel I could spar 10 more rounds in the ring after drinking vega sport!
Glad I'm not the only one who feels like a superhero after drinking this stuff...

I'd call that a rave review! Now, go have a nap. I'm tired just reading your post!
