share. learn. thrive!

Living in a way that is supportive of our natural environment is very important to me. Trying to avoid creating unecessary waste. Giving back. I do this by the following recyling everything:

all house hold garbage gets divided into municiple recycling, all kitchen scraps go into compost for my organic garden, egg shells are kept aside for a safe deterrent to slugs and snails, all magazines, clothing, household goods are shared with friends, family or good will stores. Paint, batteries, toxic supplies are taken to the proper facilities. Non toxic products are used when possible. All personal products purchased are those that have not been tested on animals. Avoid using products with metals, toxins as much as possible. Shred paper prior to recycling, reuse as note pads. Download documents rather than print out. Turn lights out when not using a room. Turn off water between washing, brushing teeth, rinsing. Use dishwashing machine for large loads. Use eco friendly appliances. Use reusable mug for outings Stopped drinking coffee, sugar and ther sweeteners except stevia. Garden organically growing fruits and vegetables. Use many bee, bird and beneficial insect friendly flowers and shrubs and trees in garden. Purchase organic, non GMO fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains (antibiotic free) meats, poultry. Purchase foods grown close to home. Reuse steamer water from fruits and vegetables to water garden. Use cloth bags when shopping. Use grass and leaves for mulching. Puchase used clothing, furniture and house hold items, sports equipment, craft supplies, material, props for costumes, music, books etc. Maintain vehicle with brakes, oils, new engine etc. Use eco friendly cleaning supplies or make my own. Make homeade cards and wrapping paper. Use library for books, music, movies, magazines. Buy in bulk. Remove weeds without pesticides or eat some dandilions. Grow herbs. Recycle craft supplies. Scan documents instead of faxing or mailing. Sell unwanted items through local internet groups. Support fair trade. Unplug toaster when not home. Bring plastic containers to family dinners. Don't idle vehicle. Ship as many items per shipment. Use vitamins, supplements and homeopathic remedys . Eat healthy to support homeostasis. Avoid gluten, dairy, or soy foods. Avoid foods, supplements and vitamins with fillers. Air out home as often as possible. Increase negative ions within in home. Carpool when possible. Support local merchants. Support charities that give tools to children ie school supplies that will help them learn concepts that will help them develope knowledge and skills to improve their lives.
