Hugh Jackman’s New Nutrition Secret!

The latest edition of Brendan Brazier’s book THRIVE: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life is set to hit shelves this month. Many of you are already quite familiar with both Brendan’s book and the Thrive diet. But this edition has one very noticeable addition: a brand new foreword written by the latest & greatest aspiring vegan – Hugh Jackman!

“There's every chance that I will be a vegan by the time you read this," Hugh writes. "I am no longer interested in the 'at any costs' part of the equation [when preparing for a role]." He incorporated elements of the Thrive diet into his life to help him add 20 pounds of lean muscle for his "Wolverine" role!

He says, “Like most of us, I want the best out of life: I want my body and mind to run at full potential… I found myself having to put on twenty pounds of lean muscle for another film version of Wolverine… I actually started using Brendan Brazier’s Vega products.”

This isn't an entirely new step for Hugh... he was seen even in 2009 toting around a Vega Carry Bag. On Monday, The New York Post picked up on Hugh Jackman’s new way of eating, and featured it on Page Six!

Hugh Jackman’s new fitness secret is not so secret to all of you! We are so excited that more and more people, including celebrities like Hugh, are discovering the value of plant-based nutrition. Look for the newest edition of Thrive in the US in stores and on Amazon on September 14th - if you'd like to get your own copy!

I would love to see ANY person, celebrity or not, adopt a more plant-based diet. The more plants one eats, the better off on so many levels! Would love to win a copy of the newest book, love the other 2!

This is great news & exposure but before we all get carried away...The article states that he uses Vega products. It does NOT state anywhere that he is a Vegan. Any Vegan athlete out there knows that putting on 20lbs of lean muscle in no time, for a movie role, would be a hell of a feat using only Vegan products; I do not think that Hollywood has that kind of patients; Regardless of the team that you have coaching you. Brendan is the man & it's amazing the exposure that he is giving the community. However, if we cause mis-information, it will come back to bite us in the end.

Maybe I missed something somewhere. If anyone else read something that's contrary to what I picked up from the article, please correct me. I'd love to plaster this article all over.

Wolverine Wow! President Clinton has also gone through an amazing transformation through his new found raw diet. And we are talking about a guy who has had his share of cheeseburgers(LOL). He has survived stints and quadruple bypass and now says that through a raw vegan diet, he can actually say that his body is healing itself. If thats not inspiration, I don't know what is.

Good news! It's nice that high profile people are exposing the myth of the emaciated malnourished vegan. Now if only we could dispel the myth that being vegan is hard.

This is great - any good publicity for this kind of diet is welcome.
Agree with the others - getting Obama or Oprah onboard would be amazing...or yes, someone like Gordon Ramsey...

Celebrities? I would love to see someone like Gordon Ramsey... so passionate about cooking and really bringing the whole "master chef" programs (and Hells' Kitchen) to life ... would love to see him do a series...episode, something... completely plant based and take it to a gourmet level and push it mainstream so everyone can grasp it.

I would also like to see Dr. Oz go Vegan. He has transformed the medical talk show, and has even had Rip Esselstyn on there promoting a vegan lifestyle. Would love to see Brendan on there as well.

The creme de la creme would be if another mainstream athlete would go 100% vegan (like a Scott Jurek, but in a more mainstream sport with massive exposure)...
