{EAT} Quick and Dirty Vegan Chocolate Protein Pudding – OMG L.O.V.E.
This afternoon I happened across the most delicious meal quite by accident. Actually, I’m finding that in general, as my streak of bad cooking karma continues, it seems to be a case of trying too hard.
Awesome results in the kitchen is like finding a man. If you try too hard, it usually doesn’t end up well. ~ Confucius (okay, he didn’t say that)…

{EAT} Primal Spirit Soy Jerky - Nom nom delish
I’m in love with a jerky.
I have found a little purse sized yum stick that has totally rocked my world. It’s delicious, about 80 calories and packs 10 grams of protein per serving.
Oh yes, it’s soy jerky.
This came in a vegan food box swap I recently participated in over at The Verdant Life. I also…

New Year, New You
About half of all American adults (48%, according to a Marist poll taken in December 2010) say they are at least somewhat likely to make a new year's resolution in a given year. Their top new years resolutions – to lose weight (19%), quit smoking (12%) and exercise more (10%). Sound familiar?
The Marist poll also found that while 65% of people who made a resolution in 2008 kept their promise for at least part of the year, 35% never even made it out of the gate. That’s likely…

The Hardest Part About Becoming a Vegan
Sure, it’s not the easiest thing in the world to forgo a fluffy omelet on a Sunday morning, avoid that cheese platter at a party or your say no to your favorite ice cream flavor. But to be honest, for most vegans, the hardest part about being a vegan is convincing people that we’re not all suffering, vitamin deficient and deprived.
Once you’ve resolved to become vegan, the next step in your plan should be to arm yourself with veggie factoids. Your can expect that your…

Walnut? Pecan? Does it really matter?
I love to eat pita's stuffed with vegetables for lunch. Along with the veggies, I usually add a spread such as Vegeniaise or hummus. But, I was reading through the cookbook Veganomicon (which is fabulous) and I found I recipe that I had to try!
I did have to modify her recipe because of the ingredients that I had in my house.
Begin by heating 2 Tablespoons of the olive oil in a large skillet over medium…

Long Lost Friend
Being a vegan is great for so many reasons, but in all honesty there are some things that I do miss from my non-vegan diet days.
I rarely have non-vegan cravings, but I do have fond memories eating queso. The ultimate junk food!
I had resigned myself to the fact that those days are over and I have given up that pleasure for many excellent reasons.
So, I moved on...
Then I was reading the…

Coming Out Vegan
This story is short, simple and straightforward.
The reason I became vegan in the first place is because of the work of John Robbins and his book Diet For A New America. I put off reading it as I knew that if it laid out a compelling argument I'd have little choice but to follow the path of logic, reason and compassion straight into becoming a vegan. With much amazement John's book helped me to rapidly understand why and how being a vegan is great for myself, animals,…
