So we’ve officially rolled into February, and where you are at with those health and wellness goals for 2013? It’s traditionally around this time that we start to let go of the motivation we had at the New Year, only a month ago.

This afternoon I happened across the most delicious meal quite by accident. Actually, I’m finding that in general, as my streak of bad cooking karma continues, it seems to be a case of trying too hard.
Awesome results in the kitchen is like finding a man. If you try too hard, it usually doesn’t end up well. ~ Confucius (okay, he didn’t say that)…

Brendan advocates adopting a plant-based that can sustain you throughout your day as well as your workouts; but also one that is sustainable for…Continue

All stress, whether it's actual or perceived stress (worry we make up in our heads), cause a physiological response in our body. The brain triggers your adrenal glands, which sit on top of your kidneys, to release the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Adrenaline speeds up heart rate,…Continue

Vega Sport makes some pretty focused products, from Pre-Workout Energizer to Endurance Gel to Performance Protein. Needless to say, the Vega Community also poses some pretty focused questions about the product line. Compare two runners who are equal in all respects except for muscular strength and the stronger one will be faster over any distance. The lower percentage of maximum strength needed for each stride translates into greater muscle efficacy and therefore, greater endurance. If one runner can squat 10% more than another, his muscles won’t have to work as hard to move his body forward, resulting in significant endurance gains.
When muscles don’t have to work as…Continue

Buying into the myth, runners neglected to lift weights because they thought it would add body-slowing bulk, yet we know now that greater strength will ultimately improve endurance. Sadly, this myth came to pass because strength training was being lumped into the bodybuilding culture; with bodybuilders lifting weights to get bigger, as well as for definition and physical symmetry.
In the early eighties,…Continue
