British athlete Mo Farah targets Rio Olympic 10,000m

British distance-running champion Mo Farah may effort an overconfident 10,000m and marathon double at the Rio Olympics. Farah won 5,000m and 10,000m gold in London this summer, a achievement that sees him join a list of Olympic reserve greats that includes Emile Zatopek, Lasse Viren and Kenenisa Bekele. But his coach says he is unlikely to try to defend that double in 2016.…

Confessions of a junk food vegetarian

I admit it, even though it is not cool any more, I love Carbs. The whiter and the junkier, the better. I'm not sure why it happened because I was raised by a vegetarian mom who grew her own vegetables and shopped at farmer's markets (long before that was trendy). I guess somewhere along the line I deviated from this wholesome way of eating. Perhaps it was the pizza parties in college, the financially strapped newly wed Ramen noodle diet or the sleep deprived years of parenthood but I got a…

Rope comps, epics and plans gone awry.

It seems typical that as soon as the ball starts rolling, something quickly comes in front of it to stop it in its track. From the last blog post, some 3 months ago (!!) i felt i had a good rhythm going with writing and keeping on top of “work like things”. Then my computer broke, i had to leave the next day for Chamonix and I wasn't anywhere long enough to get it fixed until Munich which was two months later. Ironically, a few days after i did get it fixed, someone broke into my…

{EAT} Quick and Dirty Vegan Chocolate Protein Pudding – OMG L.O.V.E.

This afternoon I happened across the most delicious meal quite by accident. Actually, I’m finding that in general, as my streak of bad cooking karma continues, it seems to be a case of trying too hard.

Awesome results in the kitchen is like finding a man. If you try too hard, it usually doesn’t end up well. ~ Confucius (okay, he didn’t say that)…

{#WIAW} What I ate Wednesday - tempeh anyone?

So given that it’s Thursday now, we can conclude that I’ve been a wee bit tardy for the party on this week’s #WIAW.

Okay seriously, enough with the bad humor (um, like never?).

Before I dive into my divine meals for this Wednesday, I wanted…
