Vega Sport – Life Before And After

Vega Sport – Life Before And After

I remember first hearing about Vega Sport. I immediately emailed Kelly asking how I could get it. “It’s only available in Canada right now. It’ll be in the states later this summer.” Damn. I emailed back, this time begging for samples, to no avail. I spent the entire summer dreaming about it while reading other people’s reviews of this mystical, glorious new product. Finally, about 6 weeks ago the delivery man rang my doorbell. At long last it had… Continue

Stay healthy and sane this holiday season with the following breathing techniques.

Breath of Fire for Energy and Detoxification

How to do it:

• Sit or stand with a straight spine.

• Relax your stomach muscles.

• Breathing though your nose exhale as you pull the navel in. The inhale naturally occurs and your stomach will expand. Pump you stomach in and out with your breath. It takes time to perfect Breath of Fire. In the beginning just focus on… Continue

The Building of a Potent Powerhouse

I've recently realized that I have a lot of awesome food in my house...I am extremely thankful for the availability of the foods, but even more thankful for my mom who's been buying these foods for me!

Almost everyday I consume the following "superfoods:" Goji berries, chlorella, spirulina, pomegranites, blueberries, maca, salba, garlic, kale, hemp seed and most recenlty, acai powder. To top it off, all of these foods are organic!

If there is a food I have not listed… Continue

COMPLEXES FOR EXTREME FAT LOSS

A 1-2 PUNCH AGAINST BODY FAT

Combining strength training and cardio is an extremely effective tool for fighting unwanted body fat. An example of this would be to use complexes with either Barbells, Dumbells or Kettlebells to create the necessary intensity.

What is a Complex?

A complex is a series of lifts performed in succession with one piece of equipment to minimize rest time. When is say "to minimize rest time" I am not joking as the goal is to… Continue

Presence in Life and Sport

“Presence is more than just being there.” - Malcolm S. Forbes

To be present for every waking moment is a hard feat, and is likely only accomplished by monks who spend their entire days meditating. But the lack of presence in today’s society is so prevalent that we as humans are becoming less productive, stress rates are increasing, and chronic diseases are spiralling out of control.

If we as humans can learn strategies to implement amongst our busy lives to help us be more… Continue

How's Your Posture?

A friend of mine who is a dance instructor (and owner of a dance studio) has recently been struck with back pain with accompany muscle soreness. Anyone who is a dancer can probably relate to this. Although it'd be easy to blame her dancing on her pain there are many components that can contribute to back pain.

In order to discover the origin of her back pain, we looked at many things including her footwear, or core strength during activities, her diet, and other activities of daily… Continue

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF AND EATING IT. My transition to a Plant Based Whole Food Nutrition plan. Part 3

Part 3

In Part 2 of TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF AND EATING IT, I mentioned that I had a decision to make. When I left off I was telling you about the extreme bloating and discomfort I was experiencing due to my quick transition to raw foods. I was also having a hard time adjusting to the flavour and texture of sprouted beans which was making it difficult for me to enjoy my food. I knew I was transitioning rather quickly so I made a deal with myself to lay off the sprouted beans… Continue

Improving Improper Dental Hygiene

If there's one healthy habit I have yet to incorporate into my daily routine, it's flossing. Flossing reportedly adds a year onto your life expectancy...who wouldn't want that? I guess it's the hassle of having to stick a thin string between each tooth and then pull it through my sensitive gums that tremendously diminishes my mood for flossing. My dentist always tell me my teeth are "A-OKAY," but that, "you need to start flossing." They've been telling me this for as long as I can… Continue

Vega Packaging

I am a big fan of the Vega products and use Vega Sport and the shakes daily.

One of the things that constantly crosses my mind (especially when I am at the store and buying them) is the huge amount of plastic packaging that is used.

Being a Vegan product (and thus inherently socially and environmentally conscious) have you considered using other ways of packaging the product (recycled paper, bulk options etc.)

Wheat, beat it!

I've made a discovery that will soon change the way I look: Consuming wheat has been the culprit for my years of acne suffering.

Since that vegetable/fruit fast I did last week, I've stopped eating bread made of wheat, soups containing wheat, and everything else that I knew had wheat in it...everything else that I KNEW. I now KNOW that soy sauce has wheat in it and that I also can no longer even eat wheat germ--an excellent source of vitamin E.

I just finished eating a… Continue

11 Steps To Kick The Sugar Blues

With the holiday season upon us, sweets start to crop up everywhere. This year grab hold of your urge for sweets with these 11 steps:

1. Drink Water! Before giving in to a craving, sit down and drink a glass of water. Sometimes sweet cravings are a sign of dehydration.

2. Reduce or eliminate caffeine. Caffeine has a tendency to de-stabilize our blood sugar, making cravings more frequent.

3. Eat sweet veggies and fruit: squash, yams, carrots,… Continue

Taking Vega Products to the world

Brendan, have you given any consideration to taking the product line globally with a network marketing form of distribution? There are companies with product lines much inferior to Vega, that are in 60 + countries around the world.
