Never Give Up

Short little run by temporallobe at Garmin Connect - Details

Nice and sunny out today. The air was a little windy with a nice smell of salt in it.

It felt so good to be out and moving again. I hit the gym after a short warm up. Feeling good I then decided to go for a brief little run.

I have had a sever chest cold the past 5 days or so on top of some other…

That summer is coming.  Yeahhh.  And that there is a mazagine out there for us.  It is called the Veggie News.  The magazine is a little pricey but, to me its worth it.  You can shop online and buy products anywhere in the country.  And you can see the latest events all over the world it is called the Vegan Fest.  My friend has a post on meetup.com.  That is also the best website ever he is my friend.  We talk about vegan food all the time and what is out there for us.  He has potlucks and…

Vega One Supplement Facts

I bought your product a week ago and I am very satisfied to date.

Because of my CVD condition, I am happy to see very healthy supplements, but have a question regarding fat content.   One scoop has 3 grams, 2.2 of which are polyunsaturated.  Are the remaining 0.8 saturated or monosaturated?  I will still continue to use regardless.  It's just that I want to make sure I do not exceed 10% of my calories from fat.

Thank you so for your kind attention to my…

NEW VEGA ONE POWDER TASTE TERRIBLE

The new Vega One powder is awful. They changed the formula and now it tastes like every other protein powder. It has that awful sweetener, chalky taste. I've been a fan of the old formula for over 2 years. I'M DEVASTATED! I drove to local health food stores stocking up on the old formula.

Job update

Just an update of the job hunt progress. I recently have had two offers for jobs. I want to respect the privacy of each company but I can say this. It's been a hard journey, I have faced many, many rejections. I have fought hard, and when the questions of "what is with this gap in employment" comes up you can see the eyes glace over when I stay I suffered a brain injury. My last interview I did no…

Dinner Difficulties

Have been 100% raw for 5 months. Breakfast(smoothies) and lunch( salads) very easy, but dinner seems very difficult. We have a RAW recipe book, and yet it seems that all frustration with this lifestyle revolves around the evening meal. I have started sprotting, and have all the equipment necessary for RAW lifestyle. (vitamix, dehydrater, juicer). We have some basic recipes that we like, but cannot put together a consistent menu that reduces the stress of "what to eat" tonight. Any ideas. Is…

Hungrier than usual...

Ever since going vegan I feel much hungrier. I also tracked my calories and realized I've been eating many more calories than I did when I ate lean sources of meat protein along with whole foods. I am eating all whole foods as a vegan, so why am I not feeling as full??? :(

Pam here again. I forgot to tell my fallow friends I used to

I used to work in a meat packing plant.  I got fired the first day.  Thank goddness.  A meat packing plant and this is true.  A meat packing plant is a  morgue for humans and animals.  I know you won't believe me.  But behind the screens did you know what people are eating in there ground meat.  Humans.  The accidents are kept a secret because the meat packing companies can get into a lot of trouble.  They don't even know that an employee is missing for weeks or months.  They found a body…

Newbie to Vegan

On week 3+ and free of food cravings. That's enough for me to continue with it.

Looking forward to the warmer weather as I do long bicycle rides. Will follow Brendan's fueling advice to maintain strength to do long miles.

Noting I'm having sore shoulder joints and hip joints and wonder why/where that comes from.  Soy milk? not enough fat? I'm following Dr. Esseltyn's recommendations re:fat. Read his book "Reversing heart disease" after husband had open heart…

I wanted to share a book I was reading.

Hi there me Pam again.  I was reading this non-vegan book.  I know what all your Vegans are saying and yes I am trully a Vegan.  Too bad though there is only 2 Vegan restaurants that I have found in my hometown Calgary.  I was thinking the other day that we as Canadians' (Calgaryians).  Should have more Vegan restaurant choices here.  Some of the restaurants do say Vegan friendly but, they really not.  Anyway I went way off topic here.  But back to the book, even though it is a non-vegan…

Healing after Surgery

I should have known better than to have hit the web to research the bone fusion procedure I'm having done on my right foot this coming Friday. Looking at the photographs of anonymous toes cut open really threw me for a loop and am trying to reconcile the impending "trauma" with the hope that I'll be back running and kick-boxing, fully healed within a few months...

Am hoping that my recovery plan, including an extremely healthy plant based diet gets me back on my feet asap. Will have…

How VEGA helped me get my 530 miles of running in for Feb!!!

BEFORE I use the Whole Food Smoothie every morning. Also put the EFA oil on rice cakes in the morning with jam, and cook with it through the day.

I fuel on the run only with the Endurance Gel every hr in training and every 20 min in a race. The Electrloyte Hydrator and Pre-Workout Energizer will also be used during races with the EH used after every steam or Bikram Yoga session as well.

AFTER I take the Recovery Accelerator and then the Performance Protein. Later on I also take…
