Testing, testing?? Hello, Vega. This is a repost from my blog, PermacultureGrin.
...
Whenever I’m forced to say I’m vegetarian, usually in some public place where eating is happening, I’m always asked, “Why?” by someone earnestly curious, while silence blooms around us to eavesdrop. I flounder to answer this question every time. Is it that I don’t believe in cruelty to animals? Do I believe I’ll have…

First timer
Hey All,
I have been reading a lil about the vega community, Brendan and the products so I just made my first purchase of Optimal Health powder (In Vanilla), along with the Thrive book and some smoothies to go. I am hoping my whole family will soon be healthier because of this choice of plant based nutrition. Anyway, I'll keep you posted.
Peace~

Bean Burgers
I tried a new recipe last night called Bean Burgers, quite a tasty meal but they are kinda sloppy...Just like the walnut hemp burgers! These consist of an onion sauteed soft and then cooked with finely chopped mushrooms (about a cup and a half or so)- seasoned and set aside once all the liquid has been cooked out. Mash a tin of your favorite beans in a bowl and combine with mushroom mixture, form into 4 patties and dust with flour (not wheat) and broil 4 mins on each side....they were…

Walnut Hemp Burger falling apart
I love the taste of these burgers, but haven't been able to keep them in shape.
Any suggestions?

Coming Out Vegan
The first time I told my husband I wanted to do try the vegan thing, he was pretty skeptical. He loves pizza, and cheese, and meat. But, he understood that I was trying to be healthy. I had just gotten back my first ever annual blood test that my work offers which showed that I had high cholesterol. This was pretty surprising to me since I'm only in my mid-20s, I run regularly, and I thought I ate healthy at the time.
At first, I was skeptical about eating vegan for…

The Lost History of Chlorella
History has always been a huge interest for me and like any strong interest I have, I work to learn more than I knew yesterday to improve my sit on earth.
Today's history discovery is sponsored by a DVD RENTAL called "Ancient Aliens" from none other than the HISTORY CHANNEL.
On the first DVD we find the first Episode "The Evidence" in this enlightening viewing we find out how far we yet to go compared to ancient times. However, it also points…

Coming out Vegan
When I went vegan my family thought I was crazy. They are Southern and eat a lot of meat. I mean pretty much meat at least two times a day, if not three. Growing up, I was never a big fan of meat, so there was no love lost. I just came out and said, "I am vegan. I do it for the animals, the environment, and for my health." When I was pregnant with my first son, I was told he would be born small, and weak by family members. He was born at 39 1/2 weeks and weighed 8lbs 15oz. I was also…
