Can someone suggest a snack....

Can anyone suggest a quick snack, apart from purchasing store-bought bars, etc. Is it okay to have the Whole Foods Optimizer as a snack or a meal?  I quite like it, but I want it to be filling, as…Continue

Is it Bad to Have Beans every day?

Since commencing my new crusade on becoming vegan, I find myself eating a whole lot of beans (chick, kidney - both white and red, black beans, you name it)every day.  I'm finding it hard to digest,…Continue

I was at the grocery store and I read about it in the VIVA Magazine. The curiosity was killing me!
Tell us a little more about yourself
Raised a carnivore, I realized that eating certain foods as I got older did not agree with me until I discovered that complete plant-based foods were helping me feel differently in a good way. I like the program a lot. It can be a bit challengikng sometimes, but it's worth it for my wel being.

October's Thrive Challenge

..so I was eating a large slab of fillet, medium-well, glazed in butter. My usual accompaniment was either roast potato or mashed potato (frankly, I'd eat every variation of potatoes. Even if they're served on a cone!), string beans with sauteed pancetta and a green salad.

Had a Relapse!

OK. Just had a relapse. I made myself some Red Curry Thai with Bean Curds. I made the rest of my family some chicken vindaloo. My husband in particular decided that he wanted my Thai dish and I took his dish. I was feeling very guilty, but that was yesterday and this is today. I'm feeling very bloated and large right now. More like an Oompa-Loompa from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Oh well. Somebody give me some words of encouragement! Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Looking forward to "Gristle"

I am a huge fan of Moby, both as a musician and as an activist. I am very curious to read this book as I am in the throws of being a vegetarian. It consumes me when I hear that the food we eat is being modified or manipulated in some way. We are machines. Machines that need proper fuel, not imitations of such. Let's get to the core of the problems and let's take more initiative, like Moby, to educate ourselves and eachother about the Processed Lifestyles that we live in.

My Mother's Day gift to myself

I always say that "everyday should be Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, Hannukah", etc. I'm on another week of "veganism" and I just stuffed my face with salmon yesterday. But I thought that salmon was good for you? Omega 3's are on top of the list. But it seems that I've been "falling off the wagon" way too many times for my liking. I promosed myself that on Mother's Day I was going to make a pact...a pact on creating a conscious plant-eating regime. OK. I screwed up. I'm sorry. Forgive… Continue
