Trikke anyone?

Just bought one and what a killer workout. www.trikke.com Seems great for a high cardio, no impact training session. Wondering if anyone has one or knows about…Continue

Hi All, I am new to my vegan lifestyle and as an athlete, it is even newer :) to structure a food plan to raw and vegan from an animal protein riddled diet from once where I began with competing. Was…Continue

Tell us a little more about yourself
I am a fitness trainer, vocal artist, recording engineer and producer and also a recovering alcoholic and food addict.
I have been in recovery for 18 years and as a result I have an awesome life (www.fit2give.com) and also enjoy an athletic lifestyle and compete in figure competitions as my sport of choice.

Vegan for the Figure Athlete

I am so stoked on changing my lifestyle to vegan. Especially as an athlete, it is so awesome to find a place where I can learn more, grow and finally get to my vegan life.
Being a figure competitor, so loaded with high protein food plans (chicken, chicken, chicken), wow - the acidic nature of that just freaks me out and to think I did my first two seasons doing just that, yuk.
I am in the process of turning my whole website around to reflect my lifestyle change into a vegan way of life (www.fit2give.com).
I give much gratitude to finding this wonderful community.

I can understand that Nyla.I know that I have seen a few women athletes that still have the look even on a vegan diet and they don't count calories or worry about protein amounts at all. The general response I've gotten is to eat a large salad with leafy greens twice a day.

Hi Nyla...I am a fitness professional that is new to the vegan community. I am really interested in learning how to keep my muscle size while on my vegan journey. Any tips?

Hi Nyla. You are amazingly fit! I can see that you are very disciplined and motivated. Wow! Thanks for your feedback about sugar. I appreciate your openness about yourself and your addictions. I haven't had an alcoholic beverage in 4.5 years myself and now that I am a vegan I feel like I'm really cleaning out my body and treating it the way I always should have. I still struggle with sugar as I mentioned in my discussion but am better than I have ever been. But there is always room for improvement. Thanks for friending me. I look forward to knowing you better.
