Tired of WFHO Berry Flavour :(

I have even tried the Vanilla chai but wasn't a fan -- eventhough I LOVE CHAI. I hadn't thought of putting OJ or Lemon (sounds interesting) in with the chocolate, will give it a try. Maybe I should…

For some reason I can't stand the berry flavour! I used to love it!I really love the Vega Sport protein in Vanilla, I wish there was a Vanilla in the WFHO.Anyway, my plan was to buy another Bottle of…

Any barefoot runners out there? Born to Run readers?

Shorten your stride, land softer, go slow...and like Brad says, take your time introducing yourself to going barefoot. There are some foot strengthening exercises you can do as well, such as picking…

Thrive version of Couscous?

I have tried quinoa, definitely has a distinct taste! I may have to try it in place of couscous in a recipe. Oh that's not my salad, I put it up from a recipe so those who don't know what it is could…

I agree with you. I've tried all the flavours and the only one I can stomach is the berry WFHO, but it is awfully sweet. I still have to hold my nose while I drink it though! Like you, I love the vanilla VSPP, and wish there was a vanilla WFHO. The…

Jeannine, My absolute favourite mix is the 1 scoop berry + 1 scoop chocolate. Have you tried mixing it up with different fruits? I love to mix the WFHO with all or some of the following: almond milk, strawberries, blueberries, orange/lemon juice, a…

amaranth will likely be a bit small to immitate couscous. Millet is alkaline, but it's a grain, not a pseudograin. You could cook it up though if you want to use it--still thrive approved that way. Finally, you could make coucous with just some nuts…

How about amaranth? I've not tried it properly myself (only tried popping it once for some energy bars) but do like millet and quinoa too as a grain like substitute. Thinking about it, I have a big bag of amaranth left, so will have to try it proper…

I'm not crazy about quinoa either, but I cooked up some millet the other day and thought the texture was very similar to couscous. Unfortunately, millet stays hard if you soak it and doesn't sprout, so you have to enjoy it crunchy (a little in raw c…

I had some couscous pilaf on my salad today for lunch from a salad bar. The pilaf had some finely chopped various veggies I think bell peppers, some raisins and spices.I really like the texture of it and wondering if anyone can think of a similar te…

Yes I am able to wear them, in fact I'm always walking around my house barefoot... I've always hated shoes! So wearing VFF's is an easy transition for me. Other than it's an odd sensation to feel like my toes are longer than normal. My favourite sum…

I'm on the fence with what nature intended us to eat. So many arguments can be made either way. But I can definitely say with confidence nature didn't intend for us to eat processed foods with chemicals and pesticides. But as far as what nature inte…

I just finished reading Born to Run this morning and loved it! I'm a newb in the running world — started running in January '10, well more like jogging...actually more of a shuffle! However I've had an issue with PF (plantar fasciitis) for over a ye…

Hate to say it as we've all heard it before, and shunned it... even many fad diets shun it simply because it's a pain in the butt --- but really what it comes down to is calories in and calories out. You can optimize the calories burned as one respo…

My personal trainer recommended your products, he went to the same high school as Brendan :)
Tell us a little more about yourself
I've always struggled with weight loss, I knew something was off but it took about 5 years (and my health deteriorating to a very low level) to find a doctor who listened. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroid Disease (basically my body is attacking my thyroid) which causes under active thyroid. It took a year to find the right dosage of thyroid replacement medicine. I have lost 60lbs in the past year, and have 40 more to go in 2010. I feel 1000X better, and looking forward to making Vega part of my regime to make me 2000x better :)
