Salba does help thicken puddings. I like to blend them in for a smoother texture. Rice protein also helps absorb some of the moisture. You can use it in place of the hemp.

Years ago I made a raw version of Brendan's chocolate pudding from his original "Thrive" book, and I still eat it frequently. The main swap I made was to switch the tofu for avocado (this provides a thick, rich texture). Here's what I do: 1 banana…

Ya Erin, Thats a good step. See if she's familiar with Thrive...it's likely she is, and if it is your desire to be more of a raw-wholefoodist, then maybe express that to her, I'm sure you won't be the first to have crossed her path. The Thrive life…

Erin, Something Sarah V said in Nikkis' 'Flat tummy" discusion has sparked an idea in my head. I think I have an idea and when I've given it some time on paper ( i do my best thinking with a pad and pencil) I am going to write a blog to run it past…

Not a lame excuse Sarah! In fact you're right on the money. Genetically your 'ideal' body composition is determined just as you're hair and eye color. I Think it was psychologist William Herbert Sheldon that first catagorised human body types into t…

Thats great Marianne, While I haven't tried this tea yet, I was recently thinking of this same issue. I don't miss meat, but I was a big BBQ'er and was wondering how to equate the flavours of the grilled burger or smoked salmon. And I agree: Liquid…

Glutamine is a very important amino acid in cellular construction all around because of its involvement in protein synthesis. As one of the 20 base amino acids in genetic code it is used in just about every place proteins are used in the body.

Hey Lisa, I am familiar with your diet as of late and am confident you will do well, but the boys are right about the glutamine and it may not hurt to take an additional dose in capsule form on a short term therapuetic basis (I know you preffer the…

I used to be a huge fitness nut, then life demanded more of me and health inadvertently took a back seat. In my mid thirties I was feeling mid fifties and have been on a rather dificult road to regain my former glory :) Its been a few years, a few fads and untold research later, I have learned so much and am now doing quite well! I am really enjoying the Vega product line and its going to take me to new levels of health and happiness!
I love hiking and now my son Hayden shares this love of outdoor adventure. Pics from a couple of our fav's: A glorious day up on Sulphur Mountain and a trip to Fort Smith NWT hiking along the Slave River.

A day in the life

I set up a killer program I'm going to follow for the next 10-12 weeks for this 'phase' of the journey. I'm getting amazing results so I thought I'ld share with Vega Community for some that may be needing an Idea of how to plan a day of exercise and diet. I'ld also invite some input to maybe improve the program for the next phase.

6:00 am) Rise and shine? Have a serving of VSPO with 500ml H2O.

6:30 am) 45-60 min. of core strengthening. A routine I put together with the h

Gardening season has arrived!

I know alot of places are well into gardening season already (B.C.) but here in Alberta you don't put much in 'til May long weekend. The weather is so fantastic...a balmy 20C :) (when winter is 6 months long a guy gets pretty excited at 20). I spent the aft doing yard work and diggng my vegetable garden....I got a little bit of a sun burn...An April sun burn in Alberta is usually skihill related! I start pepper and tomato plants indoors in pots in Febuary so they spent the day out on the deck

The tale of the lost 'science geek'

I am feeling so great this week I wanted to share my story with all so it may inspire like I have been insipred by so many here at Vega Community. At the risk of sounding a little egocentric here we go:

I did fairly well in school, graduated high school in '89 but was an akward teen; I preffered restoring old cars with my dad than team sports (I wish i had the team sport experience). I loved to work out and after high school I quickly outgrew my home gym so I joined Gold's gym.

Haha. It's cause I've spent 32 years on a sofa. Every time I dress up in running clothes/shoes I feel like an imposter. I just don't feel at home in them - yet. I will get there in time!
