I use the small ones to store batches of raw energy bites and other raw frozen treats :-) and raw pumpkin and sunflower seeds - similar to Erin I also find them useful when I travel -- I can tuck in ziplocs of snacks, single serve vega packets and b…

3 times a day is normal for most people who eat clean healthy diets - particularly raw vegan :) its the majority of the population that don't eat properly who are actually 'constipated' - the general rule is usually if you eat a decent sized meal yo…

It is tough to eat straight up raw even in smoothies some people "massage" it with a bit of oil and/or vinegar and garlic until it wilts a bit and softens you can also try making kale chips in the oven or dehydrator - they are delicious!

You can make some wicked homemade burger patties using mushrooms and sprouted lentils and buckwheat (flax to bind) and incorporate spinach, corn, etc I make a mock tuna using eggplant, mushroom, sesame seeds and sundried tomatoes you can use this as…

I would not drink soya milk when you have almond milk as such a delicious alternative -low cal, creamy and naturally healthy our bodies cannot properly deal with soy - ESP when it's so highly processed and it's origin is questionable (ie gmo) you ca…

I use chia to thicken my shakes and energy puddings - strawberries and blueberries thicken up nicely too - make sure you let me blend thoroughly and stand for about five-ten min as they will thicken more as time goes by

use parchment paper in the oven - it works great if you don't have a dehydrator = use lowest setting and eventually you can peel them off and turn over to 'crisp' up or use them as wraps pans or tin foil won't work well....

All I need to pick up is the Maca Powder. I was just looking at it last night while shopping. Should've grabbed it. Recipe sounds wonderful.

yes i had a good laugh at how biased this chart was too ! :) What's a Power Berry? or Bioperin? Yes it seems like they are trying to be everything to everyone and the body doesn't work that way.... If you are eating a varied, wholesome, high raw pl…

Tell us a little more about yourself
As a part-time yoga instructor and full-time Canadian athlete my days are pretty busy. I also regularly coach some of the younger athletes at my club.

I have always been very conscious of what I put in my body and have been a vegetarian for over 10 years - it was rough going for awhile as it was so hard to find appropriate "fuel" as a vegetarian athlete. Not anymore!

I am truly happy that I found Vega and so proud to be a Vega Ambassador!!!

My Love Affair With Dairy-It Must End Now!

OK so I have to come clean about my love for dairy. Trust me - I am not proud of it. It started when I was very young - along with most everyone I am sure. And it has never gone away.

Actually, at this point its just yogurt, kefir and cottage cheese. Sigh. Powerful stuff.

Really, it's not the taste or fat content b/c I only like plain - yep plain, low-fat dairy - I think it's the texture. I love the thick, creamy consistency of a bowl of… Continue

Competition Nutrition

Hi everyone!
I recently returned from the Women's PanAm Boxing Championships held in Guayaquil, Ecuador in early October.

I realize that some of this info is a no-brainer for seasoned competitors but I thought would post some important nutrition reminders esp… Continue

Hey Jacqueline, That sounds awesome. So cool you get to travel around the world. I bet you have had some awesome experiances huh? And as for myself, yes I do have an off season. And mine is ending at the end of this month. I usually take it pretty easy during Oct. (Except this October I decided to do a half Marathon and a 100km bike race). And now I start back in November on my base. And yes, I pretty much train all year round, but still give myself some small periods of downtime... As for my next event. I have a 10km running race in Niagara Falls. And that should be it... Then I won't have anything until the around the bay 30km race next year.
