I always thought I was a healthy eater, my husband and I garden, compost, and shop at farmers markets, Then I stumbled onto a slew of food documentaries this winter on net flix. It has caused to rethink all my food habits. i haven't become 100% vegan, but now my animal intake is much less, and then only if I can know it was raised in a sustainable humane way. My food values were always more about the environment than myself, but as I entered my 30's I noticed dairy was not my friend, and now in my 40's, I find gluten is having it's way with me. Corn and soy are out of the question on account of GMO"S, and Mono-sodium glutamate. Luckily as a child I was raised in a predominately Italian household in which "peasant" food ruled the roost. I am very comfortable around beans and greens. Now it's all about expanding my knowledge and sharing it with others.
