Favourite "Cheesy" Exercise Songs?

Not anymore, Frances! ;D Haha! My workout songs are typically dance or electro mixes/remixes. Yesterday I suffered halfway through a cover of Cindy Laupers "Girls just want to have fun" and was mid-…

Anyone else experience stomach cramping after drinking WFHO?

Hey Ted! Glad to hear that you are enjoying Vega so very much - all of the products are impeccable in my opinion, and I'm happy to hear you feel the same. Oh, and WFHO should be mainly raw. I'm not s…

Veganism and Eating Disorders - Common misconceptions and Ideas
4 Replies

There seems to be a rumor going around that Veganism is a dietary 'problem' and is co-related to having, or once having an eating disorder.  There are some people that I have noticed that seem to thi…

Touchiness about Eating and Food... Do you protect your eating habits?

We've all been there, whether totally vegan, vegetarian, or omnivorous-- we've all experienced 'touchiness' around people when you talk to them about the food that they are consuming, sometimes the p…

Uhhhhhhm... excuse me, but what the hell is up with your Mothers Doctor? I asked my EAMP about this, and she simply said: Lower Stress. Whatever it is, whether it is stress in the family, phyiscal stress, nutritional stress, psychological stress, st…

Hmmm... just took a moment to reflect on how strange it truly is that I should feel "lucky" I feel to have a partner who "Supports my diet". I can often feel guilty for being so "difficult" (I had two anxiety-ridden BBBQ episodes in two consecutive…

It's funny how, in Australia (or at least Brisbane) gluten-free is much more common and understood than vegan food. You can go to a cafe and buy a gluten-free muffin, but good luck finding a salad without cheese in it! There's a big meat-eating/anim…

I've been traveling in Asia for the last 6 months and have found it very hard to find a proper vegan meal, usually things contain eggs in them... or that vegetable soup has pork broth (Barf) in it. When I come home I will be working my way to being…

LOL I really like Brendan's comment! That's hilarious. I'm a vegan, & I think people often feel like they have to defend their own lifestyle choices once they find out about mine. I never try to make them feel that way, & I never, ever push my views…

Good thread idea! I a constantly feeling the need to defend myself, because I do get teased relentlessly about I will and will not eat. I am a vegan/vegetarian. I eat 99% vegan and gluten free, and ALWAYS vegetarian (no desire to EVER eat meat again…

People for the most part fear change, this is why they can be 'touchy" toward foods they are eating. I try not to be touchy at all, and if someone brings forward good solid evidence to suggest I shouldn't eat something then I read it and change my d…

Ha ha, this is hilarious. I own a millwork company and have certainly encountered the same uneducated attitude (about life in general, not just health & nutrition) among tradespeople. Fortunately, the group of guys I've surrounded myself with are a…

Hi there, I am not a vegan but more of an omnivore/ flexitarian who pays attention to what he eats and the amount, type and quality of meats I do eat. I eat very balanced and healthy diet 99% of the time including most vega products and whole foods.…

It's an interesting topic. Shortly after I turned vegan, my friend said he thought a lot of people who turned vegan did it 'to hide an eating disorder'. I don't think he was indicating that he thought I had an eating disorder but I did wonder why he…

Favorite Vega Product
I don't have a favourite! I love them all!
How did you discover Vega?
I discovered it through VegNews Magazine, my Mother whom is an EAMP decided she wanted to try it and maybe incorporate it into her business, and it all went uphill from there!
Tell us a little more about yourself
I am a thoughtful person, a Vegan, an Animal and Human Liberator - I am love, and I constantly strive to broaden my mind and horizons as well as my life. I live on a small Vegan farm where animals are rescued from sometimes impossible situations and rehabilitated. I am a nutrition crazed type of gal, who smiles at the thought of apples dipped in raw Tahini and pumpkin seeds. The sun is my bud, and I may try my life out in California at some point where I shall continue along my merry way, pulling human animals, and non-human animals out of situations they need not be in. I'll continue to be athletic, climbing rocks and running on beaches... Life is so wonderful.

Hey Aubrie, I actually do make my own beer and recently as my experience has allowed me I make it from scratch now, making my own mash or "wort" even roasting it my self to make a dark beer or stout. Now I am using fresh hops which my mother has grown for me and organic locally grown grains. previous to this change it was costing me approx 1.50 per gallon of high quality lager, now with the time and effort of finding only local products and fresh ingrdients the cost has only increased to 2-2.50 per gallon still very cheap, especially here in Canada where a case of 12 beer of my commerical favorite is 21.00. It is very enjoyable to experiment with. In the summer time I make a wheat beer with lemon zest which I have to hide from my mother and girlfriend or it dissappers and during the winter months on the first fermenting process I throw a couple chai flavored tea bags into the mix and create a winter warmer beer and bump the sugar content up to increase the alcohol content to 7%.......really warms you up!! hahaha
