I'm a wife, a mother to two children one special needs. I homeschool my special needs daughter. I attend as many workshops as possible related to intervention of education. In my spare time I read copious amounts of materials on health and nutrition, organic gardening, organization etc. When I'm really organized I eat really well, do to the time it takes to prepare healthy meals and snacks.

My efforts at Sustainability

Living in a way that is supportive of our natural environment is very important to me. Trying to avoid creating unecessary waste. Giving back. I do this by the following recyling everything:

all house hold garbage gets divided into municiple recycling, all kitchen scraps go into compost for my organic garden, egg shells are kept aside for a safe deterrent to slugs and snails, all magazines, clothing, household goods are shared with friends, family or good will stores.…

Hey I found something that may work out really good that I bought last night. Teff, it's a grain very very tiny no need to grind up or do anything to it and cooks up into a porridge like a "cream of rice/wheat" without having to do anything to it. It's also loaded with minerals and B vitamins here is some into about it:

100 grams is about 1/2 cup, but trust me on this 1/2 cooked into a porridge is a ton i only used about 1/4 - 1/3 cup and it made a huge bowl so this stuff expands a ton when cooked.

If you want something to grind grains don't get a vita mix or any blender for that matter. Best things to use, besides a mill, for making grains is a coffee grinder ($20) or get one of those 4 cup food processors (thats what I use and they cost about 30-40 bucks). As for a blender what are you planning on using it for? I have a vita mix and its a great blender and I use it all the time to make smoothies. Although i've been trying to get away from that and just eating fruit plain. I would look for a used one on craigslist or online.
