I turned 50 this year and it was time to get real. After having 3 years that were extremely stressful due to caring for my mom through terminal cancer, a teenager in high school, a kitchen remodel and disappearing into World of Warcraft I am finally changing my life. I started on my birthday by becoming vegetarian. Recently, that has turned to about 95% vegan and a lot of raw food. Vega's website and the Thrive book were some of the first things I've found that have supported me through these changes. I have already lost 8 lbs. in under a month since going mostly vegan and am getting back in the gym and working with a personal trainer who is a pro competitor who also turns 50 this year. All of this has given my the courage to go back to school and back to work after being disabled for many years by panic attacks. I feel like I have been given another chance at life. Thank you!

I tried some of the products and commented on my blog .... I've ordered the thrive books. The Vega products I've tried to date are incompatible with my taste buds, but the change of not ingesting dairy or eggs, and replacing milk with Almond Milk seems HUGE in reducing the effects of Psoriasis. . Besdies the Chai spice in WFHO, I also tried the chocolate vibrancy and energy bars and found myself with mild case of disentary. That impact + the taste of the bars, = ordering veggie pizza.....yes with dairy, white flour, etc....It was just impossible for me to continue given the taste so far. I purchased some sample packets of the WFHO, the chocolate and Berry and I am hopeful I can come up with a concoction that I can aquire a taste for. Thanks to the community, ESPECIALLY, the lovely Ann, for all suggestions so far. I am truly grateful for you all.

I found the information on the 'superfoods' to be really interesting and have begun to add some to my diet. The tip that I find the most helpful is the simplest... increasing my consumption of raw fruit and veggies. Especially raw veg.

I love running as it fuels my soul and has changed my life. I underwent kidney surgery last year and had to take a serious look at my choices in life including what I put in my body and how it affects my overall health. Thrive has changed how I view food and how simple it can be do eat clean, have an impact on the environment and still perform at a high level. I have given the book to several friends and bring it up in every conversation with my fellow athletes. I dont' always get it right but awareness is key and Brandon's guide has/is making a huge impact in my life. thanks!

I've learned that I can grow a younger body! I thought I was too old to start running at 53but I am up to 6 miles 3x weekly. Brendan Brazier is a genius. Thanks Brendan for the knowledge and products to kick it up to a whole new level!

As a person without noticeable and/or debilitating reactions to the 5 main allergens. I do have family members who had severe reactions to beer/wheat/dairy that took years to overcome. Looking at alkaline vs. acidic foods I had learned about via Edgar Cayce's information around that. I work for "welfare", chronic acute stress is the norm making the environment toxic, never mind the adrenals, so to learn that I could overcome up to 70% of the counterproductive stress through diet alone, is enough to cause me to tear. I am currently researching celiac disease food guidelines before I get my next lesson as gluten free is the unknown for me. Blessings All.

To say which one is my favorite is hard, Super Food, Digestive Health is at the top of my list followed by Alkalinity. In this last year my I have notice sensitivities to more foods than ever before. Since I spend most of my days on the road and have started stopping into the grocery stores for lunch rather than the Drive Thru. I first came across Vega when I was looking for a shake that offered more than just Whey and soy with a few Vitamin essentials. The info on the containers looked promising and everyone commented how this was created by a Vegan athlete.
So, I started with the single packs, moved to the small container and now on my second large container. In the past I have had to have IV Vitamin feeds to maintain my health but I still could not get enough to keep me ahead. When Brendan mentioned Adrenal glands and how stressing them out leaves you in a constant state of exhaustion, I knew exactly what he was talking about. That is what has been the biggest issue in this last year! Stress is slowing killing my Adrenals causing me to gain weight and lose of energy. So I was so excited to when he went into details on what to do to restore my stamina and better handle stress. I have even added Maca to my diet hopping It will help with my age changing issues…
Every day starts with the Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer (Chai Tea) with an added handful of blueberries to get my daily dose of L. Acidophilus, B. Bifidum and Vitamins to start me on the right track. When I don’t have my shakes I tire quickly and find myself low in drive and high is stress. Not a good thing when I have to deal with customers all day. In the evening with Dinner I add a shot of the Vega Antioxidant EFA oils and afterwards have Apple cider vinegar help aid my stomach and to better digest.
I’m taking baby steps to change my way of eating to better my body and improve my health. Sometimes when we change to fast we get frustrated and end up worse than we started. My next step is to get the book and take this to the next level. I have recommended the Thrive in 30 to so many friends and strangers who I meet who begin to talk about their health issues.
Now that I have gone down the list of why I here I will go with the Super Food issue to be the best and most informative when it comes to what I was really looking for to help me gain back my life!

So far I am up to lesson 7, and they are all so informative. I love them all!! I am using the information from each one. I am now eating 2 raw meals a day. One being a Vega whole food shake in the morning. Cannot go without one now. Way better than coffee in the morning for getting the body going. I think the lesson that sunk in the most for me was lesson 4 -Acid vs. Alkaline. I have found with eating higher alkaline foods. I am now less stressed, sleeping much better, and not getting leg cramps any more. I look forward to each new segment.
Thank you Brendan -what you are doing with the thrive in 30 is amazing. I am so glad I signed UP!!. I am now telling my friends, and getting them to sign up.

I find I am disappointed when I check my emails and the next lesson hasn't arrived yet, they just can't come quick enough. Everything I am reading resonates so deeply with me. As I read more, it seems I want to know more. This seems to parallel beautifully the whole concept of Thrive - that as you nourish yourself with proper nutrition the better your body responds.

The information that I found the most interesting was the following.

Hunger was the bodies way of telling me that I was not eating the proper nutrients. While training for endurance events I was always eating large volumes of food. However I was always hungry. I learned that I was not eating the right types of food. I incorporated the guidelines set out in the Thrive in 30 program and I am loving the rewards.

The changes were all simple and sustainable. Here are my favorites. - Eliminate - White Rice, White Flour and White Potatoes. Also the information about Alkaline vs Acid blew me away

I discovered Thrive in 30 while doing a search for the best whole food vegan protein mix. I found a site that compared several brands. I am allergic to wheat and dairy as well as several food additives and am trying to removed refined foods from my diet.
When I read about Vega, I went straight to the site to read the nutrition label. I was impressed. It had everything I wanted and more as well as nothing that I didn't want. I stayed on the site to read Brendan's story and signed up for Thrive in 30.
That was just what I was looking for!
For me the thing that really hit home was the article on Activity. I had been pretty much forcing myself to exercise for years. I did like weight training, but that was about it. Cardio had to be forced for sure. When I read the article about how forcing your body to exercise is just another form of stress, that resonated with me. How much better to find something your body loves to do and then treat your body to that activity! WOW! What a thought.
So, I remembered that I had enjoyed a few yoga classes a couple of years ago, and I bought some yoga cards and cd's and went after it. It felt amazing. I couldn't wait to do it almost every day. Also, I love to dance, but never really thought of it as exercise. A friend of mine invited me to a zumba class and it was a blast! Now I just put on my ipod with my favorite dance music and dance around the house for an hour a few days per week. I still throw in some weight training and walking once or twice a week because I enjoy that too, now.
What a differenc an attitude adjustment makes!
All of the nutrition articles have helped me improve my nutrition so that I now have the energy to fuel a desire to move. I've even convinced a family member to give it a try since they see how much more energy I have! Thrive is an excellent word to describe the feeling I'm gaining about my life.

I agree with a previous poster. My favorite Thrive in 30 tip is using nutrition to strategically fuel your body so it works the way it was designed to work. I have always been rather healthy when it comes to eating and exercising, but the idea of "fueling" your body over "feeding" your body is something I had never considered before. This brought a whole different mind set to shopping for ingredients and planning meals. I enjoy shopping and appreciate food so much more now. I thank Thrive in 30 for helping me become a better, more efficient person and athlete.

It's a challenge to pick just 1 favorite tip. There are so many fantastic ideas here, but by far the most relevant to me is how diet and stress go hand in hand. When I'm stressed, I used to reach for high-fat, high-carb (refined sugar, yikes!) foods, which always seemed to just increase my stress and decrease the quality of my sleep. When I learned from Thrive in 30 to replace these with nutritious, whole-food choices, not only did my stress decrease, but I felt more vital energy coursing through my body to help deal with stressful situations as they arose. What's more, with this new energy, I was able to sneak in workouts where I previously felt "too stressed and busy" to workout. Win all around! I love to incorporate a Whole Food smoothie to satisfy my sweet tooth rather than reaching for processed chocoalte bars and snacks. Thanks, Vega!

I would agree with the alkaline statement many have been making but to mix it up a bit the discussions about biological age were interesting. I started taking Chorella to detox, green tea and i work out as usual. It is interesting to look at people you know who are active and compare appearances. It really is true...

ALKALINE by far. But I really think this was a great idea. Each lesson is better than the last. Good job, Brendan. Keep the good advice coming.

Each one is my favorite! Each one is as eye opening as the last. It was an amazing revolution to me to learn about the nutrition and assimilation of food. After always "carbo-loading" it was huge to learn how to eat in away that my body could use right away! I feel healthier and fitter each day that I follow the Thrive diet.. I also love the Vega line.. When I'm in a hurry, I can just use the Whole Food Optimizer and know I am getting the best nutrition possible.

My favorite Thrive in 30 tip would have to be "How to use nutrition to strategically fuel your body so you’ll have greater endurance, maximize the return from your workouts and recover faster".
Before, I was a weight lifting, running, martial artist omnivore, after I read the Thrive Diet I turned into a Vegan. As a omnivore I would eat a lot, but I had a vague idea of what to eat to make me recover faster. I felt like I had a lot of energy as a omnivore, but when I switch over to the Vegan diet and follow the recipes and learned about "How to use nutrition to strategically fuel your body so you’ll have greater endurance, maximize the return from your workouts and recover faster", I notice a huge change in my energy levels.
I applied this tip to my lifestyle. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, I eat 6 small ones, and I make sure I plan out my meals so that way I can recover faster. For example, I have my easy digestible protien and carb shake after my workout, followed by (an hour later) a more protein dense and carb meal. I started gaining muscle mass more, started to look more tone, Felt like I could run for hours on end, and felt as if I had a abundance of energy (I still do). I never feel tired any more, and I feel like I am always gaining in something or another and it is all thanks to the Thrive Diet, and the Thrive in 30 tip.
