September Thrive Challenge

Inspired by the lifestyle changes recommended in Thrive and Thrive in 30, the Vega Community is here to keep you on track, share in your successes, and inspire even greater change to help you achieve optimal health.

Summer has come to a winding halt, and now, it’s back to the routine. We want you to Thrive in whatever it is you’re doing – whether it's work or class – and what better way to do that than getting up earlier and eating breakfast? We think it’s a good start anyway...

This month, we challenge you to compare how your everyday breakfast measures up to only one single serving of Vega’s Complete Whole Food Health Optimizer; using our NEW online Breakfast Nutrition Calculator.

What makes Whole Food Health Optimizer so special compared to other breakfasts? Just in case you forgot... it’s 100% plant-based, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy free and it’s super low in calories! Only one single serving guarantees 100% of your daily vitamins and minerals AND 60% daily intake of fibre, all while promoting healthy weight loss and optimal health.

Your challenge this month: Bring your breakfast to centre stage and plug the ingredients into our nutrition calculator and share how it compares to Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer. How did it make you feel? Did you notice an increase in energy or fewer cravings throughout the day? Tell us about it. If you already have a Vega smoothie each morning, tell us why and how it makes you feel compared to before you started.

How to enter: Take the Breakfast Challenge and post a comment, below, or to Vega’s Facebook fanpage.

Prize: A one month supply - two 15-serving containers - of Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer, a nutritionally complete, alkaline and easy to digest, natural health-optimizing supplement. Approximate retail value: $150.

Contest closes: Entries must be received by September 30, 2011 at 11:59 pm PDT.

Winner: Congrats to Andrew, the winner of our September Thrive Challenge.

I participated in the Thrive in 30 challenge at the same time I was started a bootcamp class.  I wanted to make sure I was getting enough of the proteins I needed so after trying some of the Vega Health Optimizer and feeling how good I felt after a hard class I reseached Brendan's advice and created my own supplement using pea protein, brown rice protein and hemp protein.  I have a big smoothie every day with greens (kale or spinanch), the proteins, some maca, and a little fruit.  It's amazing how filling it is and I can often go all the way to lunch with just a small snack after drinking my smoothie.  What I like best about the Vega products is that I can get them as a single serving for traveling or when I can't create my own at home.  It gives me an amazing amount of energy and keeps me feeling full and healthy.

I already start my day with Vega! The shake is a wonderful way to kick start the day. It tastes great and provides my body with the nourishment it needs. Vega helps keep me fueled for the day ahead!!!. Plus, it's so easy to prepare. Thanks, Vega!

A Vega smoothie has been breakfast for me for over a year now. After an AM run or weightlifting I make my smoothie with 1 cup water, 1 scoop of Chocolate Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer, a small banana, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, and 1 tbs Dulce (dried sea vegetables). I look forward to it because it's always delicious, helps me recover from my workout and cover my nutritional needs leaving me feeling alert, calm, motivated and energized. Before I started having a Vega smoothie for breakfast I struggled with food cravings and overeating. These health and sanity thwarting behaviors have now fallen away. My Vega smoothie for breakfast ritual feels like a beautiful thing; an act of supporting my optimal health and that of the plant too! And to me, this is awesome!

I've been having the Whole Food Health Optimizer for two mornings so far.  Before this I'd typically only have a Venti Skinny Hazelnut Latte from Starbucks every morning for breakfast.  I'm hoping to get more energy since for the last year I've been going to the doctor trying to discover why my energy levels are so low.  Reading Thrive Diet and it sounds like stress (nutritional, physical and emotional) are exactly my issue.  This is the start of my new whole food plant-based diet lifestyle.  Next month I start my new less stressful job as well.

I've never been a breakfast eater so I started using the WFHO because it is all I can stomach in the morning. It's going well so far...

I've started using the WFHO for breakfast each morning instead of high protein poached egg and small veggie burger.  I love the convenience and only need one scoop to provide a breakfast that sustains me and keeps hunger at bay until I have a small vegan snack a few hours later, mid-morning.   I blend it with water and love the really smooth texture this makes (I use a Bamix hand blender).  Even better -- I've lost over 2 pounds in the first week of doing this (as part of the Thrive in 30 challenge) :o)
