“Too early, too cold, my legs hurt, I was up late;” sound familiar? During the winter months, it can be easy to find reasons for why not to exercise. So, what’s your plan for staying motivated this time of the year?
For some, it might be joining a running club or finding a training buddy to help you stay on track. For others, it could be keeping an exercise journal to compare how you feel before and after your workouts.
Your challenge this month: Reveal your best excuses for skipping out on the gym or your scheduled run, and then tell us your plan (or goal) for overcoming them!
How to enter: Post a comment, below, or to Vega’s Facebook fanpage.
Prize: A container of Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer and Vega Sport Performance Protein (post-workout recovery). Approximate retail value: $115.
Contest closes: Entries must be received by October 31, 2011 at 11:59 pm PDT.
Winner: Congrats to Megan, the winner of this month's Thrive Challenge!

Comment by Stephanie Watson on October 8, 2011 at 5:47am Honestly, there are no excuses not to sweat every day! Even ten minutes is good. I put my clothes out the night before and get my water bottle ready. No excuses!!!

Comment by C W on October 8, 2011 at 5:27am Excuses: it's too dark or cold to run this morning! Plan: I run very early with friends, so if I don't go, someone will be without a running partner, making it harder to skip. I also have a dog that needs to be exercised, which help with motivation. My favorite trick though is going to bed in my running outfit- huge time saver!
Comment by Michelle McJannet Bratton on October 4, 2011 at 8:08pm I broke my foot!! really... but I plan to work upper body, continue yoga, & single leg..
my regular winter excuse though is I don't snow drive... so no gym, or classes, however, I have a buddy willing to pick me up for workouts now, & I'll pay her back with d'lish dinners! I am also bringing my weights up to my room, so I literally trip over them in the morning... simple!
