For some, it might be joining a running club or finding a training buddy to help you stay on track. For others, it could be keeping an exercise journal to compare how you feel before and after your workouts.

I have a whole assortment of "best" reasons...my knee hurts, I am going to be walking a lot later (like today for trick or treating), I need to finish a project....and on and on.  I love this time of year!  I will set special goals for myself.  These goals will include selecting and training for a running event at the first of the year.  The event will be tied into a family visit.  I will also have a goal for trying a new recipe each week to add to my vegan/raw/performance collection.  I will also take time daily to be grateful for all of my blessings.  Finally, I will do something each day to add a little light to someone else's life.

I spent the later part of the Summer discovering cycling - 26km roundtrip to & from work on a dedicated cycle path oceanside for most of the way, and I was loving it. Then the cold & rainy weather hit, and I was super bummed! My solution was signing up for a 45 minute indoor spin class 2 days/week at 6.30am which gives me time to get to work after, and incorporating what I learned in those classes to my own cardio throughout the rest of the week. Sleeping amazingly well now :)

My biggest excuse for skipping the gym is that it is 25 miles away from my home (it was the only gym I could afford in the area.)  Not only is gas expensive, but it is a time consuming process to go, and it can get boring at the gym.  My first way to make it more fun was to get a smartphone so I could watch TV shows on the treadmill and stairmaster, which does make it better, but it can be frustrating mixing up a workout routine at the gym, especially when it's very busy and you spend more time waiting for equipment than working out, so I was skipping the upper body and ab workouts as a time saver.

My plan to overcome this excuse has been to do full body workout videos at home, and mix up my routine as much as possible to keep it interesting.  I usually can make it to the gym 2 days a week (as it's right by my school, so the distance/cost isn't an issue...time still is, so every once in a while I can talk myself out of going, but I fight hard not to unless my plan is to go home and do a video workout.)  2 or 3 days I will use a different exercise video, such as Taebo or cardio pilates.  1 day a week I wind up walking to work due to car sharing issues.  Then the other 1 or 2 days I'll go hiking with my boyfriend when he has the day off, and I have a future goal that keeps me motivated with hiking, as I want to be able to climb this very difficult trail without having to stop.

This plan has been working very well for 2 weeks now!  I just have to keep finding new goals and pushing myself to keep it going.  There is one new goal I have, which I am still weighing since it is a pricey one, but I would like to get a gaming system with fitness programs.  The idea of setting fitness goals and breaking them while simultaneously playing a video game is quite appealing :o)

I recently started teaching 8th grade science and love my job.  Here's the catch; I have time for nothing else!  After two large cups of coffee in the morning and being 'on' all day, I am exhausted at the end of the day.  It's hard enough to endure the drive home without thinking of sleep. I know that I've got to kick the coffee habit, and get to the gym but it seems impossible.  As a part of the challenge to myself, I am going to switch to Vega WFHO in the morning, and go to the gym two days a week.  If this works, I will make an effort to pick up more days.  I know that I have to just make the switch and commit.  So, here's to less talk and more action!

I just started eatting right for the first time ever in my life.  Now what start working out lol.  The first night couldn't hang with the lady.  I fast forwarded through the dvd and the next day I was so sore it hurt to move (this was no joke I hurt so bad).  I told myself I have to continue or the first night was and all the pain was for nothing.  Last night I worked out again.  I feel every muscle in my body I still hurt all over lol.  Tonight, I'm doing it all over until the hurt goes away then I will give my body one day off maybe. I'm looking forward to trying vega

I'm a new single mother of two toddler boys (1 and 2.5 years old) and often between finding a balance with the rest of my life I get overwhelmed. I'm sure the exercise would help and end up giving me more energy to keep up with my kids and everything else but I've been lacking motivation lately.

I recently moved down the street a community rec center which has affordable child care for its members. The play groups are great for my kids because it gets them moving, learning and interacting with others. Since I don't get much help with my kids (their dad is barely around and my family is based out of the US), on top of all the benefits for my mind and body, working out would give me some quality me time. Thinking about it, why didn't I look into it sooner? Anyway, I think keeping a calendar on the fridge and crossing out the days I go in would help with the motivation initially until the exercise high kicks in and skipping would take more energy than to just do it. I want to keep it simple because the more complicated I make the less likely I am to do it.

I live .3km from work, and I work 8 hours/day and I am up on my feet most of the day.  At the end of the day, I am really tired and I really don't feel to exercise. So I convinced myself the road directly to work is blocked and I walk the other way around.  This way, I walked at least 7 km/day.  I also get up earlier in the morning to do some exercises.

I live .3 km from work.  It is really close.  Because I work 8 hours/day, and I am really up on my feet almost all day, I get really tired.  So, I know at the end of the day I won't feel to exercise.  In order to have some exercises, I make myself get up at 4h30 am every morning weekdays, plus I have convinced myself the road directly to work is blocked, so I walk the other way around back and forth 4 times a day.  I am walking at least 7 km/day that way.

My excuses are usually that I don't have enough time to make it to the gym on the weekends but now I realize any amount of exercise would be worth it, even if it is for only 15 minutes.

Biking to work as many days a week is working for me.  I'm committed to continue, even in the cold as long as it is safe.  When the messy snow starts I'll bus and walk part way in.  Swimming at least once a week and yoga at least once a week.  Continuing to get walks in a few times a week.  I will work to continue all this into the cold season here.

I had to miss a few tri training sessions in Solomon Islands because of torrential rain, washed out roads etc...but the scariest thing was jumping in the water at first light hoping that there were no crocodiles in the same area...certainly was always in the back of my mind (not to mention the odd shark)..we used to swim in the world's deepest swimming pool..Iron Bottom Sound off Guadalcanal. After working from the wee hours of the morning until the afternoon, I usually lie down and then can't find the motivation to get back up and get outside. I usually end up taking a catnap then just feeling too tired. I plan on getting off work, getting a quick meal in, then doing my workout/exercise routine. No room for naps!

I get up and dressed and it's dark out side - even though the little ones and already in school - what the heck I'm afraid of the dark ask my family.  So I wait until the sun just starts to come up as I don't want to go out in the blazing sun - no good for my face, wrinkles you know.  Just at the right moment I open the doors and it hits you like your opening the oven door to bast that thanksgiving turkey.  Way to hot 92 at 7AM and the humidity, your soaking wet just standing there and I haven't done anything.  Maybe if I walk fast I'll create a breeze to help cool me down.  And did I mention the mosquitoes that are out all day long, you would think I live in the rain forest.   How about the python that slither across my path(10 footer) or the coral snake or the 2 ratters.  The deer and panthers are nice.

So in order to start taking care of myself I start out with a Vega Optimizer drink then arm myself with a cell phone, radio, a flash light, whistle, mosquito netting (no not really) longs sleeves, lace up my fashionable sneakers and go for a walk/run around the area.  Oh yes, don't forget the house keys - got locked out once.

I plan on changing my eating habits (no excuses) drink Vega Optimizer and get going to a healthier life and down and couple dress sizes and a stronger heart.

Skipping a workout is usually not the case.  Rest to rebuild is the problem here.  Somehow need to find balance and good nutrition to help with recovery which is the reason why I am on this blog. :-)

My favourite excuses are "I'm tired" and "It's too cold". I plan on using my sick cat as motivation to get me out - I'll do it for her because she can't do it herself.

Even if I'm tired, I can still at least go for a brisk walk, rather than my usual run and if it's too cold, I can always use my treadmill.

I shouldn't have an excuse, I don't have any kids and I'm self employed with my own schedule, but I still come up with them.  I over trained last time and my knee still "hurts",  I don't have time to fit in a workout, I'll do it tomorrow and then my favorite is not getting my butt out of my comfy warm bed just to get bundled up and go out in the cold.

I plan to overcome this by preparing a preworkout snack the evening before sleep in my workout outfit to cut down on time.  Then set three separate alarms on my phone in the morning so that I will be forced to wake up to one of them.  Once up listen to some motivational music to get me psyched about the workout.  Hello 'Eye of the Tiger'!  I plan on investing in an indoor bike trainer for days when I don't want to head outside.  Lastly after recently turning 30 I promised myself this would be the year to run my first marathon.  I pinky swore myself on this one and now everyone reading this is a witness. Game on!

Getting back into "shape."  Hip surgery from a bike accident and my mother's death has taken a toll.  Yoga, bike riding and joining the gym are my goals to start this month.  Well, not quite halfway through the month and those goals..........not yet!   Tomorrow!

Some of the excuses that I use (and work!) are that I am too tired from work the day before and I deserve the rest!  I should get up early and get into the office so I can leave early to workout (sleep in and dont work out). Craziness!  But-I just got some bloodwork back from the office and apparently they need to do more tests because all my levels are off.  Seems like I shouldn't have agreed to my excuses...........

Just completed a one-year membership at the gym and found it extremely boring. I plan  to keep my exercise exciting and fun by continuing to play the sports that I love like tennis, and mixing things up with yoga, group classes (spinning, zumba), etc.

I work in a warehouse, so I'm very physically active all day. my excuse is always that I'm too tired. My plan is to start getting up early, and getting a workout in before work. I just wish I could find an early a.m. Yoga class in my area. Well, I guess that's what DVDs are for.
