Hemp is one of the Earth's most nutritious, sustainable, and versatile crops, dating back more than 10,000 years. Who knew?!

Comment by Dawn Craig on May 27, 2011 at 2:11pm I use hemp in all my smooties and use in the hemp seeds mixed with coconut flakes, dried cramberries raisons, sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds for a carry along snack.
I use Hemp Hearts TM daily
I sprinkle them liberally in salads, on yogurt, and in my Vega smoothie like Robert B. Being vegetarian, they're an essential part of knowing that I'm getting the protein and essential oils I need.
Sometimes I just eat them with a spoon.
There's also a great hemp and flax seed oil blend out there.

Comment by Sherri Lynch on May 22, 2011 at 6:30pm I have always used the Body Shop Hemp cream for my hands as I find it is the only thing that prevents the dry cracking skin caused by our horribly cold winters!!
I recently just began using Hemp milk instead of Almond Milk to mix with my Vega Whole Food Optimzer shakes in the morning (vanilla chai...yum!!)
As I am beginning the Thrive diet this week I will be incorporating hemp hearts into my daily salad, and I just purchased a container of hemp protein and a bottle of hemp oil to be able to begin making the receipes in the diet!! So excited!!!

Comment by Miroki on May 20, 2011 at 5:55pm I can't believe I almost missed this challenge! I literally just started incorporating hemp into my diet on a more regular basis lately!
I use hemp milk as a milk alternative on occasion.
But I adore hemp seeds in my cereal to add a kick of protein and healthy fats. I cannot believe how much protein is in a couple tablespoons!
I also use a hemp protein powder on occasion as a Vega alternative (or mix with the Vega optimizer), and also a hemp fiber powder. Fabulous.

I LOVE YOU HEMP!!
I am running my first half marathon June 11 in beautiful Ludington, Michigan right on the shores of the lake. I am intensly nervous yet excited all at once! It is very apparant to train physically for something like this, but training nutritionally should be factored in too!!
Fabulous post workout smoothie inspired by a youtube video Tim Vanorden recommended:
-2 ripe organic bananas
-dulse flakes
-NUTIVA HEMP SEEDS!
-organic flax seeds
-pinch of cinnamon
-Optional: Any fresh fruit you want!
You can watch him make it here:

Healthy Hugs, Meg!
Comment by Janine Croxall on May 6, 2011 at 12:07am I'm on a 3 week moderate cleanse and am incorporating hemp daily. The other night I simmered potatoes and leeks in water then added fresh nettles towards the end. After blending that up and pouring some into a bowl, some dried red onions were mixed in. Of course, it was topped off with a good dollop of hemp seeds and then drizzled with hemp oil too! This was so unbelievably delicious!!
I sprinkle hemp seeds on everything!! From toast to stir fries, to smoothies :)
