Keeo Rising...
Permalink Reply by Aleksandar Radan on February 10, 2011 at 8:11pm Well its been 25 days of daily 6am yoga at Goderich Ontario's East Street Station (www.eaststreetstation.ca) following Eion Finn's Blissology Program which was released this January and which many yoga studios across North America have made a commitment to as well. In Goderich we have had about 30 people drop in and get involved with about a core group of 10-12 people that have been there almost daily. The project, group, dynamic and experience has been an "upward spiral" wherein one positive commitment and effort leads to the next and so forth gaining momentum,
I had hoped to see more folks joining in virtually on-line through this or similar discussion threads, but online activity, both on VegaCommunity and even on the Blissology website has been relatively quiet. But within the small groups that have commited to the project the experiences and transformations have been anything but quiet or understated.
For myself reconnecting to a daily yoga practice has reshaped my daily approach to nutrition, the environment, gratitude, exercise, work, stress, challenges and relationships. I'll be posting more on my blogh and in weeks to come.
Encouraging you all to take on this or a similar yoga focused challenges. Make yoru 2011 amazing and transformative. Its your choice.
Keep Rising.....
Permalink Reply by Louise Lee on February 12, 2011 at 11:41am just wondering, has anyone been doing the Bliss Project over the last couple of weeks??? I have been doing it and loving it. My favorite ones are the Friday and Weekend ( especially this)!
Thanks
Permalink Reply by Aleksandar Radan on February 12, 2011 at 4:05pm BIG SHOUT OUT LOUISE!!!! I have been "leading" the Goderich group and loving all the sessions. The full friday routine is great, but I'd be hard pressed to say I have one favorite. Each day is amazing in its own way. The meditations I find are also a perfect way to end the practice each day and really let it all soak in.
It would be great to hear about our insights, changes, and elements in your "upward spiral" off the mat and into the world.
I'll definitely be revisiting alot of the routines even after the 30 days and the group we started in Goderich will be continuing a weekly class on Wednesday's exploring not only Eion's other classes and offerings, but also yoga teachers across North America that have downloadable content.
Keep Rising!!!!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS – 6AM FLOW YOGA
Start: February 23 – May 11, 2011
Lead by: Aleksandar Radan
Where: East Street Station - Goderich Ontario (www.eaststreetstation.ca)
Online: Do your own Wednesday morning 60-75min yoga and blog your comments here!
Come explore various styles of flow yoga in a community focused environment. Each week a different class from various notable North American yoga teachers will be edited to compliment the unique group format being presented (for those online MP3 files can be forwarded if requested). The aim is an empowering experience of a personalized yoga practice based on five principles:
COMMUNITY: While the classes will be hosted and organized, we are each gathering as ‘equals’, to support one another and grow together. Patterned on a traditional community gathering format, yoga classes will be conducted in a circle to emphasize solidarity and unity together.
COLLABORATION: Whether you are brand new to yoga or a seasoned yogini, we are gathering to share experiences, reflect and learn from one another. Immerse yourself and explore, learning both from your inner teacher as well as the community around you. The dynamic environment is meant to inspire and motivate, allowing for individualized growth and progress to be celebrated and supported.
AWARENESS: We each come to yoga class in various shapes, sizes, with varying abilities and limitations. While flow-style yoga can be dynamic and vigorous, the foremost principle is toward cultivating a sense of personal awareness and emphasize each individual to respect themselves and their growth. Yoga, which fundamentally means “to unify”, is the practice of moving the body to still the mind, allowing a greater awareness of our true self and the elements of our health and environment affecting our fundamental health.
JOY & GRATITUDE It is a privledge to set aside time, to gather, to collaborate, to shift our attention and work on our physical and mental health. However, if we do not leave these mornings smiling, feeling enlivened and inspired we are missing the point. Come to do YOUR work, even if that means sitting quietly the entire class. The key is to bring attention to the elements of our life to be balanced on the yoga mat, then to step back into the world renewed with joy, gratitude and purpose.
KEEP RISING: The tag line “Keep Rising”, encourages us to rise beyond our current circumstances toward the highest ideal of our self, and most importantly to invest our highest self by sharing in the world we live in. As such, while we are gathering to do work toward our own individual health, we gather to help raise each other up and to use these classes to generate and foster support of the community we live in.
SUGGESTED PRICING:
All proceeds of the class go toward supporting East Street Station and its evolving programs and needs – a fundamental philanthropic philosophy of “Paying it Forward”. The ‘Wonderful Wednesdays” Yoga project is envisioned as a mechanism toward personal and collective growth and fostering empowered dynamic individuals and community through East Street Station. While financial commitments are an important part of this process they are not meant to be a barrier.
* For those on a fixed income or budget, pay what you can, or simply bring a willing spirit and speak to a staff member at the station to explore alternate ways to contribute

Amazing experience this morning. A group of about 12 came together in a cirlce to practice Eion Finn's class "Tragically Hips" 60 min flow. We used music from 'Staff Benda Belili' to welcome the group and set the stage for a celebration of yoga and collective growth. Many smiles all around. It's going to be a great adventure of community and personal sharing and growth, delving into classes from diverse vinyasa "flow" yoga approaches. As the weather allows in the spring we will conduct classes outside to appreciate the sunrise.
