Comment by Matthew Hatton on January 1, 2012 at 3:17pm Hey All, I'm a vegan amateur cyclist who spearheads his local Green Mission team at Whole Foods Market. Cycling and Environmental awareness are kinda my thing, which makes this an excellent group!
Comment by Mike Simmons on April 16, 2012 at 7:31pm I am new to the group. I'm an ex road racer who got back into the sport a couple of years aga and have tried every nutritional suppliment out there. I stumbled on Vegasport in, whole foods and am really likeing it. Is anyone doing any long training days using the product, and or making any of their own.
Comment by Cris Pereira on April 16, 2012 at 8:06pm Hey Mike,
Long training days? Well... that depends on what you call it a long day!, my long days are 4 to 5hrs , I do these 2 to 3 days a week. I find it that Vega has a nice and complete line of products. I use the new vega one before the ride with some pre workout energizer. During my ride, I do gels (vega brand and hammer), I also bring with me some Vega endurance bars and I also like the Raw Revolution bars. Oh, I almost forgot, I guess I should mention that I also like my coffee, before and at stops during the ride.

Sounds good, i've used hammer gel a couple of years ago, and during a race last year in Bishop CA, the Everest Challenge, brutal 2 days with 30,000 feet climing with huge temperature swings. It didn't sit too well with me, but it also probably was the heed which i dispise.
I've been using Infinit but am steering away from the Whey, cause am trying to go back to being 100% vegan.
Are you going to have any kits made this year and who do you use to make them.
As far as my long days is between 6-7 hours on Sundays and 3'4 on Sats now. I was putting in 40+ hours a week last year but am building a house and running my company so time is limited.

have you tried the vega recovery accelartor and there protein powder, I really like it.
I tried the electrolyte powder and it was good too.
The only draw back is if you use all there products you need too sell heroin to suppliment your usage haha!
Comment by Cris Pereira on April 17, 2012 at 5:12am Hey Mike,
Do you follow the team on Facebook? We are doing another clothing order at the end of the month!
Yes i do use the recovery accelarator, i like mixing it with coconut water, and i also use the protein powder after extra hard workouts.

I have changed my diet, I'm Vegan but I still eat eggs so I guest that makes me 3/4 Vegan Im loving every minute of it. Little tricky when I'm on the road traveling for Marathons, and Tri.
