Well Ryan maybe we could help change that!! Oh and I must say I love the pic.  I'm just starting to try and get back into rock climbing. It's kinda hard when there really isn't anywhere open when I'm not at work!!!

No there hasn't been anything going on here. I actually forgot about this group. Well, I just completed my first Olympic distance triathlon this weekend, and currently training for a half marathon. Hope to do a 70.3 next year, but we'll see if that works out.

Thats awesome Gina!! I think I'm going to sign up for my first 70.3 in June and I've only done a try-a-tri ....and that was like 3 or 4 years ago =)

I don't know what try-a-tri is, but you must be in excellent shape if your even considering a 70.3. I really wasnt ready for this race at all, but I got through it .... Just had hoped for beter times. Next time I will be better prepared. I have a sprint in october that I have high hopes for. Best of luck to you in training!

Gina why did you not feel ready for the 70.3? I am curious : ) I am not a very strong swimmer at all so that kind of scares me but I have 10 months so I hope that is enough time to at least power through that part.

My goal this summer was to run my first half marathon: accomplished

My goal next summer is to do my first triathalon!  The scarry part is the swimming.  I know how to swim laps in a lap pool but that is way different from a lake!  Tips?

Lindsey, I haven't attempted the 70.3 yet. Hoping to do Boise next June so I can sneak in an excuse to visit a friend. This year I did my first Olympic, and only trained for a month after taking several months off of training, besides running, so thats why I felt unprepared. I have bike races and 1/2 marathons all lined up til June so I can be prepped and ready for a 1/2 Ironman.

Oops didn't mean to send yet ... On my phone. I'm not a strong swimmer either, I have open water anxiety. I've been working with a swim coach which has helped enormously, but there are a fe other things that I couldn't go without. 1st. My swimmers snorkel, which helps me focus on my stroke and not have to worry about breathing. 2nd my water proof mp3 player, music always helps, and 3rd I bought this book by Ironman called Fearless Swimming For Triathletes. It's full of all sports of tricks that really have helped me. Swimming is hard, but I'm determined to cut some serious time off my swim split by my next race!

I'm also not a strong swimmer and as of last 2 weeks ago will be spending 4 day a week in the pool. I am sooo out of shape and have a long way to go to even come close to feeling like I'll be ready for June....yeah I know it'a like 8 months away =)

Oh Gina the try a tri was a whole 400m swim, 10k bike and 2.5k run!!! So it's a far cry from a 70.3 =D
