dehydrator - preferences? reviews?

does anyone have pros & cons of different dehydrators they've come across?

i'm looking into buying my first one and would like a starting point and/or suggestions.

I had one circular dehydrator that worked reasonably but I've been impressed with Excaliber we eventually bought. We got the 9 tray used off craigslist but rarely use more than 1 or 2 trays. The five tray is as little as $100 on ebay which seems like a good deal.

The biggest difference was really in what/how much we could fit. The circular design limited the width/height of items.

I got a pretty good deal on Amazon. I have the 9 tray dehydrator and can do more than I really need to at one time.

the excalibur seems to be the most common gold standard. I love my 5-tray! Used to have one of the round ones but it didn't have a temperature regulator, and it seemed to dry too hot to keep something considered raw

thank you everyone - i ended up getting an excalibur 5 tray with a thermostat knob & timer. :)
