I have found that I can run way faster and further in my vff's then I could in running shoes. The transition was fast and easy. But as a skateboarder I use thin soled shoes and utilize a midfoot strike at high speeds. (just without a lot of impact). I cant wait until the snow melts and I can begin running truly barefoot.
(I did get Achilles tendentious from a skateboard ultra marathon one so I do eccentric loading ecersizes. I would recommend those for people about to transition and during the transition to barefoot or minimalist running)
