share. learn. thrive!
hello all
as winter, colder weather, and snow for some of us, have begun creeping in i decided it was time to find some warmth for my toes.
in the summer, and still on most days, i wear my invisible shoes when walking around. i love them. and they are fantastic for after i run my marathons. i am hoping to one day work up to running my marathons IN the invisible shoes - however i sidetrack.
about a month ago i began looking for barefoot winter boots. i came across tons of shoes, less options for boots. i thought i'd share my finds and hopefully get some suggestions from others for future winters.
it's also nice just to find some new options for everyday "barefoot" shoes.
ideally i wanted vegan and waterproof.
below are all the options i found and considered, and why i may have chosen to keep looking
* TOMs vegan wrap boots: liked vegan, the buy one give one of TOMs & neat looking
- might still leave me a bit chilly
- definitely would leave me wet in snow
- guessing about the heel from the toms shoes i own
* VIVOBAREFOOT off road hi (ladies or kids): liked kids cost & that it would work for hiking
- leather vs vegan
- might still leave me chilly
- might leave me wet in snow
* VIVOBAREFOOT eskimo boot (kids only i think): liked cute, probably warmer
- leather vs vegan
- faux fur = less warmth than real wool or some other options
- i worry about the width as i have wide-ish feet.
VIVOBAREFOOT had 2 other options brooklyn boot and boxing boot (both womens)
kigo footwear: liked vegan, cute, have "nicer" mary-jane type shoes for dressing up a little
- will leave me chilly
Soft Star Shoes phoenix boot (womens): liked warm, non-slip sole
- sheepskin vs vegan
i ended up with a pair of the kigo flits for dress-up times and a pair of the phoenix boots as a gift from my parents as most of the boots are well outside my price range.
did you find some fantastic winter shoes/boots? please share
hope all be wonderful

http://www.overshoe.com/Pages/default.aspx
The NEOS overshoe has minimal structure and does little to change the dynamic and experience of your minimalist footwear underneath. I have a pair of both the insultaed and non-insultaed. The non-insulated NEOS are adequate for errands and general to and fro. Insultaed is a treat if you are planning on spending more time in the great outdoors this winter.
Enjoy. Keep it simple. Keep Rising.
good to know - thanks for the info :)
how do you find the flexibility of the sole? also is there any heel?
hope all be wonderful
