Vitamin B12 in Vega Health Optimizer (What is the source???)

This is perhaps a question that Kelly is best equipped to answer.

I am curious as to the source of the vitamin B12 in the Vega health optimizer.

Why? Algae contains B12, but it is not Bio-Available (the body cannot use it). And since my hunch is that the referenced B12 on the nutritional information is on account of the Chlorella in the formula, it is in fact non bio-available B12, and therefore one should not rely on this as a source of B12 vitamins. This is of particular concern for true vegans who are more likely than the rest of the population to experience a deficiency due to lack of meat in the diet.

Perhaps someone at Vega can clarify this.

Thanks!

Hello Kyle.

The B12 in Vega is through Chlorella. I am a true vegan and Vega is my mainstay as I am on the go most of the day.
Before I became a Vegan you would hardly ever find me in the kitchen. I can honestly say my mental abilities are outstanding with my new Vegan diet. I own my company and maintain over a dozen websites and on top of this I edit through about 100,000 exposures a year as a Digital Wedding Photographer. On top of this I drive about 30,000 kms a year. Needless to say I work right around the clock. Even though I am always waist deep in work I get a lot achieved day to day. Brendan who developed the Vega formula has been a Vegan I believe 18 years, and he is as mentally and physically fit as they come.

All the Best,
j

This is a question for me, though I have to admit I need to consult Brendan on this one!

There are two sources of vitamin B12 in Vega Health Optimizer. The first is through chlorella. Brendan explained that the B12 in chlorella is in analogue form, meaning that your body needs to convert it and that a healthy body is capable of doing just this. The other source of vitamin B12 is in the multivitamin added to the formula.

Hope this helps to clarify! Have a great weekend.

Thanks Kelly,

I didn't realize a multivitamin was added to the formula. Good to know.

I am still skeptical about the body's ability to convert the B12 from the chlorella however. I have read in several texts that one should not count upon algae for this vitamin. Just my two cents.

Hello Kyle,

As I have stated in many discussions here on Vega. Most Vegans here and most athletes should own a copy of Earl Mindell's New Vitamin Bible. ISBN 0-446-61409-2

My father was in Dietary Management for half of 22 years in the food industry. His number one saying was it take 50 years to embrace a new belief and 100 years to let go the old with Health Care. I do not know if you have watched all the http://thrivein30.com videos with Brendan however i believe one of the last he goes into the Chlorella and its B12 properties.

The reason I go back to this is cross referencing Earl Mindell's statements it takes as long as 5 years to deplete all the B12 in your system unless you are a regular drinker if your a Vegan as well.

Mankind has its back against the wall because all the natural best sources are now considered by most Vegans are tainted sources or better classified as non organic.

If I was to return the 4 food groups we were taught consume in our school systems I would have to see a full reversal of civilization.

The first and number one reversal that has to be achieved is a complete stop of the use of Coal as it compromises all water on the planet with mercury.

If you have not watched Manufactured Landscapes - you should as China increases the use of Coal and Nuclear Energy the impact will be Global with 20% of the world's population making the move to go Global.

Brendan is the only person I know of who has been Vegan more than 5 years - the Thrive videos hestates he has been Vegan 18 years.

Also over 1 million Japanese use Chlorella on a daily basis and what I have researched the properties and Claims of Chorella is to assist with RNA /DNA functions...

Right now I believe any information provided by any Government source is done so conform the mass decision we do require the killing of animals to maintain proper health.

Have you seen the DOC food.inc - its available on Itunes..

It is noted in history that before the days of Noah we were Vegetarians.

I am a young vegan and I am living well with the decision however as Kelly said Brendan be consulted on this.

I am not giving up on Chlorella as it is to be richest source of B12 on the planet.

My background studies outside of Art is Ancient Studies. In these studies Man - not Men as the ancient's believed Men can not become Man until trans cession was experience through suffering. Moving on They referred to Man as the "Man Plant".

As verified in "The FOOD INC." DOC all meat based sources of nutrition is watered down and so tainted with bio engineering it seems as though the best sources of B12 is through Enriched Sources and hopefully Brendan will come forward with more enlightenment for the use of Chorella and its B12 properties.

He is the best Test Tube of the bunch of us here.

I am 42 however I truly don't feel a day over 18!
