Hello there!
Just wondering if anyone is training for the upcoming Toronto (half)-marathon? I am training for my first half-marathon! I am really excited, but very nervous!
What other upcoming races are people training for? Is it your first one, or are you a seasoned veteran? Any tips for a newbie to get over first race jitters?

I will be running the Scotia half this year - I am actually running the Queens City Marathon in Regina on Sept 11th - so a half run a month later will work just fine for me. Race nervousness is normal and I am actually nervous myself for this weekends race even though I have run 5 other marathons, 7 halfs and a whole bunch of other distances. Run with your body, race with your mind - this was a view from Dr. Stan, a sports psychologist, that trains some of the U.S. teams Olympic Marathoners. Know that your training will benefit you and that you are capable of completing the race. It's a mental process more than a physical one - the human body can do incredible things. What is your training like ?? Are you with a group ? On target for pacing, etc. ?? What other distances / races have you run ??
I am! This is my first half too and really looking forward to it. The route is supposed to be pretty fast and the crowds and entertainment some of the best in Canada. I am so excited about it.
I am also doing the following:
Women's Toronto 8k
Marquis de Sade 21k 21 hills
Tannenbaum 10k
Resolution Run 5k
Disney Princess Half Marathon
Around the Bay 30k
London Marathon
