Permalink Reply by Cardio Captain on March 3, 2011 at 10:17am I read in Dr. Earl Mindell's Vitamin Bible, a lack of potassium causes caffeine cravings and a sweet tooth!
Whenever I drink coffee or crave chocolate, I always drink a big glass of water with a scoop of celtic sea salts in it to quench the cravings with minerals.
Permalink Reply by L.J. on March 3, 2011 at 8:35pm Coffee is bad for human health. Period. There are numerous studies and marketing materials that promote the "health benefits" of dairy and meat by their respective boards. Same goes for coffee. It's all hog wash. Anyone who understands how research works knows that you can always find something positive to promote. Here's the truth about coffee in a nut shell:
Coffee leaches out vitamins and minerals from your body. So everything healthy you consume, all that organic produce you overpay for, you're literally neutralizing its nutritional content with coffee consumption. You may as well microwave all your food while you're at it. That's why Nathan (above) found that the moment he took coffee out of his diet, VEGA worked much better.
Hope that helps.
Permalink Reply by Ryan Varga on March 4, 2011 at 11:04am I also love a good decaf, and though I try to drink a lot of herbal and green tea instead, I still miss the java. I have been off of caffeine for a couple of years for medical reasons, but have tried to wean myself off of the decaf because of the acidity. However, I do allow myself a couple of large cups of decaf on the weekend (black with a sprinkle of cinnamon - heaven!). I justify it because of the antioxidants. It's my reward for being super clean all week :)
