Noticing I was getting partially dehydrated I started to mix up the ginger ale recipe in Thrive.

I added everything but water and blended on high to break up the ginger very well.

Replacing the water with ice, I ground the ice down into a slushy consistency. However, last night I did this with the anti-inflamatory ginger, pear, banana recipe and it turned out like soft serve icecream.

So this got me wondering if anyone has made any "soft serve" with their blenders which is really healthy?

For ice part of mixing:
I start the blender off on 3 using the tamper on the vitamix, then I turn it up to 6/7 and let it self cycle for a bit.

For the ginger, pear, banana mix:
Place everything BUT water in mixer and blend very well getting it up on high for a moment, then add ice.


I think the ginger ale turned out more like a slushy because it has liquid ingredients primarily. But the smoothy had mostly fruit. Either way its a taste treat :)
