share. learn. thrive!

Yo!
I'm about to start an intensive workout regimen. My main goal is to lose fat and build muscle. I've read Brendan's book, "Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life." The problem is that I'm broke, and I can't afford all the ingredients under Brendan's recommended shopping list. So, I'm wanting help in reducing a shopping list down to the fundamental basics. Ingredients that are versatile and super-effective in speeding up the recovery process, whilst providing lots of fiber and protein. Also, I'd like to know which Vega Products are essential for a beginner vegan-athlete.

This means a lot to me, so, thank you in advance to anyone with feedback.

Thanks,
Zak

Buy in bulk. Especially the pseduograins, qunioa, millet, wild rice etc. Buy canned organic black beans (and other beans) and make sure to rinse them off to get out the extra sodium. While the Whole Food Optimizer may seem like a lot to purchase it is a meal replacement so you'll get all the nutrients you need, so I'd say buy that. Also buy spinach frozen so you'll have it for longer and put that in your smoothies. The main thing with this diet is to get in a huge salad and a solid healthy smoothie daily. Those are key elements, in my opinion, with Vega Nutrition.
Hello Zak,
The Vega Sport Performance Protein was designed as an after workout shake containing 20g of protein with 5000mg of BCAA's. It will help with muscle recovery, repair and helps strengthen and tone your muscles. It is 85% raw, 75% organic, alkaline forming and very easy to digest. Many people also take this product throughout the day to increase their protein intake as well. This and all of the Vega products can be taken at any fitness level.

Hope this helps,
Alana
