oops was that a secret?

No, not at all! We just started receiving it at head office and waiting for the other locations to receive before spreading the word. Lucky people of the west coast! More details coming soon. PROMISE!

I just tried this as well - purchased several single-serve portions at Choices in Vancouver. I really love it!

I love the nutritional profile of the Whole Health Optimizer, but the taste is TERRIBLE. At least I can get my protein from Vega now without feeling like I'm eating dirt. :P

Thanks Vega folks - it's really great. (Though perhaps..a WEE bit on the pricey side, sorry!)

Would love someone in the know to weigh in on when one would use Whole Food Health Optimizer and when one would use the new Sport Protein in their daily routine. I exercise just about everyday (4 days swim, 3 days run, 2 days weight train after swimming) and I currently use 1 scoop WFHO about 1 hour before working out and also Sport Performance about 20 minutes before working out. I currently use another brand product for post workout as it has a 4 carb to 1 protein ratio with glutamine included. I see that the new Sport Protein has a 4 protein to 1 carb ratio which seems to go against just about everything I've read. Any scholarly advice appreciated.

I got the email last week, sadly, a week after I re-ordered 3 large canisters of Whole Food Optimizer. Can anyone tell me what the difference (nutritionally) between WFHO and the Vega Sport Protein? I currently do an intense 5x weekly bootcamp, work my horses, usually work out with the husband in the afternoon, and want to start training for tri's again this spring once some nice weather rolls around, so my energy demands are pretty high. I get pretty good results from WFHO, but still crash in the afternoon.

Thanks! Very interested in trying it!

Hey Allison - VWFHO is more of an all-in-one meal replacement including complete protein, 100% RDI vitamins and minerals, probiotics, MacaSure, ChlorEssence, antioxidant blend, and digestive enzymes. The VSPP also has complete protein but instead includes BCAAs, glutamine and digestive enzymes. Depending on the day's activity level, you would likely take VWFHO daily and then add VSPP on days were you have a particularly intense activity day. Hope this helps!

Try playing around with it a little more! Last weekend at the calgary health show we blended it with water and frozen fruit...it was great!

To me the WFHO would best serve to 'Break the Fast'...breakfast; complete nutrition with out the heavy feeling in your stomach. I have not yet seen the VSP but from what I understand it is to be a protien boost for heavy training days to stave off catabolic breakdown of muscle tissues. Ideally post workout should be a dose of carbs within 30 mins. to replenish blood sugars then protien 30 mins. after that to utilize your insulin and propel free form and BCAA's into your muscle cells. Thats how it would be done for strenght training anyway! I'm not so well versed in the endurance sport training/nutrition ideals.

Hi Derek. I thought I was the only one who didn't like the taste right away, but I guzzled it anyway. I purchased the chocolate yesterday evening since WHole Foods does not carry the Vanilla Chai WFHO flavor. I'm used to the almost sand like composition from having daily Raw Hemp Seed protein shakes. Well I wish you the best! I am excited about the release of the Vega Sports Protein. I have not yet tried the Sports Optimizer, but that's my next step.
