I'm doing Ironman Canada in 11 days. This will be my 5th ironman but I've had problems with nutrition in the past. This year I use only the Vega Sport drink in my bike bottles.It has worked great for me in training! I also use the Vega whole food energy bars on the bike. I make my own gel for the run (recipe from Brenden Brazier's book).
I live in Northern Ontario. I ordered 2 new cases of Vega whole food energy bars from our local health food store (some time ago) & they called yesterday to let me know they couldn't get any from their supplier. I don't want to chance my nutrition plan at this point so I am hesitant to make my own bars since I haven't tried them in training. I'll be driving to Pencticton (leaving Kenora, Ontario) next Monday August 25th. Is there stores where I can but the bars on the way? Also, for people out there doing IM Canada next week.... What is your nutrition plan for ironman? How often do you eat/drink on the bike & run? What will you eat the week (specifically the day) before the race?
