share. learn. thrive!

I like using this site for people's opinions and help. I need ideas for some good meals after workouts you know the ones brendan says to eat an hour after some sort of recovery mix.

My workouts are consisting of going to the gym lifting weights and than going to a martial arts class. I found this to be a great strain on my body even though im not slowing down im also not being able to get better and I know its because of my diet. SO I cleaned it up a bit by eating oats with nuts and fruits in the morning, a daily salad, i bought some quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat....i pretty much took the thrive diet shopping list with me to the grocery store. Im kinda confused how to use it all in a meal though i need something quick and easy to eat after my workouts which come like an hour before bed. any suggestions?

How about buckwheat porridge? I find this really comforting and it's great as a post workout snack/meal.
Soak about half a cup of buckwheat overnight, then rinse it really well so it's no longer soapy. Whizz the buckwheat, a chopped banana, a couple of soaked dates plus the soak water (or a dash of nut milk) and some cinnamon together until you get a lovely smooth consistency. I use the coffee grinder attachment on my food processor and blend until the mixture is slightly warm. You can serve with raisins or blueberries. So tasty!
