share. learn. thrive!

Hello!

I am new to vega and i really want to lose weight this summer. I am 180 pounds and want to lose at least 20 pounds. Please help me to know how to lose weight on vega. I am thinking about starting a liquid diet using vega as a meal replacement. I want to drink vega for breakfest, lunch, and eating one meal (salad) every day for the next 2 months. and if I need to snack then yogurt or fruit. If any of you have a better plan please share. Also i do plan to exercise, i walk in the mornings and work out in the evenings. Also another question is it ok to sip on vega all day?

I have done green smoothie cleanses for three days before with great success losing weight.  I would make a smoothie with water, banana, frozen fruit, greens and one scoop of vega.   You could then go to having the smoothie for breakfast, salad for lunch and another salad and smoothie for dinner.   If you want to lose weight it is a good idea to find out where your calorie needs are first because depending on your age and size you can easily over do it and slow the weight loss down.   I wouldn't sip on anything all day, eat your meals but give your body time to digest in between and get hungry again before eating or drinking again.  it is too easy to over consume calories when you eat constantly.

I know this is old school, but calorie count.  It works.  Find out what you need to consume based on your activity level and how many lbs a week you want to take off and then create your calorie and nutrition profile off that.  I does work.  Log it all.  EVERYTHING you eat, including sweeteners and any little extras like any oil or other additions to smoothies etc.  Measure everything too.  Don't guess.  You will always guess low.  :-)

When you get tired of shakes and drinks (and you will) you can make a pudding out of Vega One, Shake & Go Smoothie's and Performance Protein.  They all have different qualities and nutrition profiles. Just watch the sodium in Performance Protein as it's more formulated for athletes that are replacing a lot of electrolytes.  High Protein content, but also high sodium content.  Vega One (formerly whole food optimizer) is a great balance of them all and is my favorite for taste.

For the pudding, just add some water, juice, almond or hemp milk or whatever you want for a liquid, a little bit at a time until it's the right consistency for pudding.  Stir with a fork or whisk to dissolve it all.  Add a sweetener (stevia or something) and anything else you want to enhance it.  Cinnamon, other extracts (natural of course) raisins or just by itself.  It's pretty darn good and it just gives you another taste option vs. drinking it all.
