share. learn. thrive!

Has anyone considered P90X as their program, but stuck to the Thrive Diet?

I actually just finished P90X a week ago and was looking to start something new--something that has both strength and repeat-pattern cardio. After reading Thrive Fitness, I want to start it, but I'm feeling stuck and confused. To me, it lacks simplicity. I see that Brendan focuses a lot on strength training and many of his exercises are the same in P90X (on lifting days P90X has more). So I wonder: can I do P90X and use the Thrive Diet with it? I only did P90X with my vegan diet (not really incorporating raw foods and superfoods, though). But the thing I liked about it was that it tells you exactly what to do everyday, and because it was in a DVD format, I could do more exercises faster, as opposed to flipping through the book. The other thing is that I don't have a bench, so I have to omit a few of the exercises in Thrive.

I guess the bottom line is--I'm looking for a program that incorporates running and strength training in a simple format with exercises that are no longer than 1 hour. I think Brendan does this, but I can't figure it out. Anybody do anything like this and want to share their customized program?

I use Chalean Extreme on my non-boot-camp days, which is by the same people. Absolutely, I mean the point of the Thrive Diet is there are no hard and fast rules. This diet supports the very active and the not-so-active, it just requires you to take responsibility for your own body (listening to it, making sure you eat enough / at the right times to support your activity level).

I'm sure you would have success with the thrive mindset, even if you learn your own recipes that work best for you, alongside a program like p90x. If you are looking for the next step there is p90x+ which is a more advanced expansion on the program. And then I just ordered, and will be starting next week, BeachBody's Insanity program. It's a maximum intensity long interval training program, targeted more towards individuals already at a decent level of fitness to really push the limits. I'll let you know if it's all it's cracked up to be! It comes with a diet plan which I will review and see if I can make replacements and adjustments, or if I will just ignore it and stick to my own vegan high raw diet.

cheers :)
