Permalink Reply by Joseph Z on June 15, 2009 at 3:48pm I thought about eating meat to hope that it would make the lightheaded moments go away, but I haven't done so yet. The results from my blood test said that my B12 is fine, but my iron is low, normal for a woman I suppose! Although I'm asian, I've never been a crazy rice eater, and i'm not about to consume a whole bunch of carbs when I'm not used to doing so. My doctor didn't weigh me when she made that comment; she said the dehydration thing cuz lightheadedness is a symptom of not drinking enough fluids. I wish I knew what my body was saying.. .

Permalink Reply by Jackie Engle on January 27, 2012 at 11:32am Stelle, when I started going vegan I had the same dizziness, feeling out of it. I think it was the change in diet. So I took the advice of some who have gone there and back up some on my cold turkey thinking. It helped alittle.
Hope this helps,, Jackie

I'm still vegetarian. The dizziness has gone away completely. I think it was like everyone said, just my body getting used to the change of diet and whatnot. My diet is WAY better than it was in the beginning (love Quinoa, beets and brussel sprouts!) which has helped in the transition. It's always tough in the beginning, as your body adjusts, but for anyone worried about becoming vegetarian your body WILL adapt and love you afterwards.. . and so will the earth lol! Corny, but I had to add that in.. .

Is there anyway I could talk to you outside of this message board? I am going through the same thing that you were. I am vegan and I just straigt into it about 3 months ago and I have horrible dizziness and I get lightheaded. I have had test ran and everything has come back normal. My vitamin D level is very low. I have to see a Nutritionist on 2/13/12 for my eating. I am not sure what to do at this point. I cant stand this feeling and wish it would just go away.
