Depending on your typical daily diet, it might take from months to years to get well installed in a vegan raw diet. A tip would be to add elements of organic vegan raw foods to your normal diet, and eliminated the elements in which you want to get rid of, slowly and as you feel ready to do so. Some discipline is required, but straining yourself rigid discipline will make you fall back into crazy cravings and start back to 0. Feel it when your body no longer needs the bad stuff, and then let it go. This way you go with the body, not against it. Check your stress levels too, as your body might want stimulants rather than nutrition.
Hope this helps!

Permalink Reply by Sarah V on September 6, 2011 at 7:58am I think it can be tricky eating vegan if you're doing it purely for health reasons. I watched the film Earthlings and can honestly say I can ever imagine eating animal products again, never mind craving them. I know going raw is different as normally based on health reasons but if you can tackle going vegan, then raw is often just another step along the path. Good luck! :-)
(I also agree with the above advice to start slow and steady, don't give yourself a hard time as this only makes things worse)
Thanks for replying Sarah, true, health reasons would be a major consideration for me going vegetarian/vegan but i too truely understand the horror some of us feel when confronted with the horrible suffering imposed on the animals that humans consume.......at times i do consume meat products but try to only buy meat that has been ethically reared, no gold stars i know but it's a start!....When i was eating raw for a while i did get daily compliments regarding my eyes looking clear and, (wont say younger that sounds a cliche), well just healthier!! so i am aware of the advantages!!!!!
Thankyou again, Nicky
