share. learn. thrive!

What do you guys eat instead of bread? Thrive Diet says bread is a processed food after all, regardless of what kind it is.  But if you want something quick and filling, what's the best alternative to bread?

ya, I use quinoa, brown rice, basmati, chickpeas, beans, etc.
If I want something quick, I grab a banana - no cooking time!
Don't you guys miss peanut butter sandwich?!
I eat Ezekiel bread and wraps on occasion; they're great. You can also make some raw breads/crackers that are quite filing.

More specifically, are you looking for filing meals (dinner? lunch? breakfast?) or snacks?
Isn't ryvita made with rye - aka relative of wheat???

I used to enjoy sprouted grain bread (like Ezekiel) until I learned recently that I'm allergic to wheat and yeast :(
Now I stick mostly to whole grains/pseudograins like hot cereal, brown rice, quinoa or buckwheat. Occasionally I will eat sprouted grain tortillas, ryvita crackers or dehydrated flax & seed bread (Ani Phyo has a couple of great recipes in her cookbooks).

Hope this helps!
Yes I'm looking for something quick for lunch or snack. I've been eating way too much peanut butter sandwich but it's quick to prepare in the morning. I've never seen or heard Ezekiel bread. I gotta check that out.

Thanks!! Never had overnight oats... the one on the blog looks so yummy.

You could try some overnight oats - you prepare them the night before and they're ready to go in the morning. This blog has a lot of good recipes: http://ohsheglows.com/recipes/#Breakfast

For me fruits are amazing snacks! They are practical on the go and you don't need plastic bags or plastic containers. Like oranges and bananas these fruits are higher in carbs, which turns to sugar(food for the brain cells)=stops hunger!!!
try nori raw sheets they make good wraps!
Thanks Tania for suggestions. Fruits are great but sometimes you want something more solid, you know. Tonight I had a vegan pizza. I can't imagine pizza without bread.

The Thrive Diet pizzas are pretty tasty and I've tried the sprouted and dehydrated crusts at a local raw restaurant. You kinda don't notice the difference after switching.
