Brendan,

I am curious if you know anything about alkaline ionized, micro-clustered water - more specifically Kangen water. I have heard excellent reviews on the water, however, I am hesitant to purchase a machine due to the cost ($4500 CDN).

Thanks, Kim
Hi Brendan,
I'm wondering if you've ever heard about or tried Moringa? It seems that the nutritional, vitamin, and protein content of the dried leaves is incredibly high compared to many other plants, and would enhance Vega products even more!
I used to consume Vega vanilla chai powder daily when I was in Montreal, but now that I'm working in West Africa (and training for a marathon in September) where it's hard to get Vega products, I've needed to find alternatives for vegan plant based proteins, and so I'm experimenting with moringa, and so far so good - I feel amazing!
I'm curious how the decisions are made about which ingredients to include in Vega products and where they come from.... and is there the possibility of including moringa?!
Thanks
Hi Brendan!
What do you think of the blood type diet??
Thanks for your time!
Lisa.
Hi Brendan, I have a question on the amount of fat needed daily? I know this varies from person to person depending on age, gender, activity level, etc. But is there a general guideline such a 20% or 30% of daily calories?

thanks, Donna
Where's Brendan's blog column?
Brendan, I wanted to see what is your opinion and source of obtaining Vitamin D-3??
A lot of people have severe deficiency of it.

Alex
Kim, here is the link for the same quality machine but more than half the price. Dr. Brian Clementt from Hippocrates Health Insittute recommended this to me when I was at his seminar. That is what they use and recommend.

Brendan:

I have been on the Vega diet for about a month and feel pretty good; however when I run (I usually run about 50 miles per week and do a weight work out about 5 days a week) I feel weak, slow and sluggish. I never felt weak, slow and sluggish before Vega. Is this normal during the transition to Vega? My gut feeling is that my body is adjusting to Vega. Look forward to your thoughts!
Two things: When making the sports drink and recovery drinks that have dates--any tips for blending the dates thoroughly so that they don't settle? For some reason this seems to be more of a problem when I do the lemon-lime recovery drink than when I make the lemon-lime sports drink.

The other thing: Tips on popping amaranth? I tried it in an air popper, as suggested in the Thrive books, but the grains were so small and light that almost all of them flew right out before they had any chance to pop. Then I tried putting them into a paper bag and using the "popcorn" setting on my microwave, but then I just ended up burning them. ::sulk::
What would you recommend for a cardio (50 minute jogg/run) pre-workout snack? I've been eating sprouted ezekiel cereal but I don't even know if it's the right thing? I do tend to get hurry that's why I've been sticking with the cereal. Is there anything else that could increase my energy and endurance?

Thank you :-),
Steph
Hi Brendan,
What is your opinion on people who are anemic. For the last year, my iron level is low and supplements prescribed by my physician did not change my ferritin count at all. I tried to increase my iron level through natural foods (spinach, legumes, clams, no caffeine, more foods with Vitamin C,...) but no affect on my iron level. What should you do if your body does not absorb iron??

Gisèle
